With only goal difference separating them from the bottom three, Hammers Manager David Moyes may well be on borrowed time. Another loss would surely spell the end of his five-year tenure. Leeds cannot afford to be complacent. Even after their defensive display last weekend earned them an unexpected draw, the Whites are only two points better off than their East London opponents, with a game in hand (away at Manchester Utd which was postponed following the Queens death). Marc Roca could return to the Leeds starting line up following his impressive second half display against Newcastle Utd last weekend, with Adam Forshaw expected to make may. Patrick Bamford, Archie Gray and Stuart Dallas remain sidelined, although Bamford is set to return to training this week. Marsch has some tough decisions to make with Ayling, Kristensen, Summerville, Gnonto and Harrison all pushing for game time. Kurt Zouma (knee) and Maxwel Cornet (calf) are expected to miss the trip to West Yorkshire, but there's better news for Italian International striker Gianluca Scamacca, who has recovered from a persistent ankle injury. Michail Antonio is struggling with illness, but is expected to make the squad. Eleven of Leeds sixteen points this season have come at Elland Road. They must get something from this game!
my head says draw heart says win and to all none believers change your new years wish to a win, cant go wrong then.
Won’t make any attempt at a prediction. However a win and we could still make mid table. Anything less not really acceptable
Really looking forward to this one as I'm taking one of my best mates (who's a Hammer) to the game. To the victor the spoils...or if they win he's walking home
Funny team West Ham - last couple of years they were a decent team but you always felt they were punching above their weight… had a knack of sneaking close wins. This year, I don’t think they’re playing much different… just leaking a few more goals and stopped scoring them. Emu said the other day, winning is a habit, losing is a habit - it’s one of those bizarre unexplainable things in team sports where the confidence/belief of an entire team ebbs and flows. So you have to feel we need to kick them when they’re down. At the same time, we have a habit of being the side that teams break their bad runs against. I guess it’s just a very Leedsy thing to do. Sometimes it’s maybe because we’ve been a soft touch, sometimes it’s just pure Sod’s law. Need to buck that trend and send these bubble blowers back to the east end with their jellied eels between their legs.
The bookies can't call this one though milky. Leeds 31/20 West Ham 13/8 50/50 match which given we're at home and above them in the League can't be good.
I think it’s because the bookies know that we’re not all that… and know that the spammers have been better than their results say. See it as 50:50 myself bud
Same here to be honest and so a point wouldn't be a bad result. Problem is you need to win your home games in this League.
West Ham, functional, effective, probably safe at the end of the day. We are a bit more drama queen and harder to call so I’m hoping for a 5-0 home win and no messing
No mate, it’s in my beans, I see something good about to happen. We’re all going on a European tour… Possibly a bit premature, story of my life
Moyes got WHU playing well and got them into Europe so the board gave him big money and guess what they are worse this season. They have Scamaca Italy’s new first choice striker (Willie is 2nd choice) for me this season they dont press and are too slow to penetrate so don’t score. Guaranteed to out-press us on Wednesday. Underlying issues to with star man Declan Rice. A must win at home, we have to start winning against all the teams around us or we are goosed
Teams do seem to end bad runs against us but taking the EFL cup game into account, we’ve not won a game in 4 now. We’re very unpredictable at the moment so I’d hate to call this one
Declan Rice has reportedly 18 months left on his contract. He has refused to sign another so will they cash in now because come the summer his value drops. Being said he favours a London move and if true why risk him playing against us.
Think they have to risk him Wakey. They're as desperate for points as us, maybe more, so definitely can't afford to field a weakened team. Unless of course, Moyes believes were ****e
Every PL club will field their best players this week if available. It's the wonderful FA Cup coming up this weekend remember
