There a perfect example. Stokes owners are upset that FFP isn't being relaxed (and it won't be) so instead of trying to find ways to make it work, they want FFP relaxed so they can throw money at it
Sounds like sort of whining that will go on from MP for Newcastle East when the Saudis are banned from creating ridiculous fake sponsorship deals in order to circumnavigate FFP
I think the answer is that the owner is running the club like a sustainable business. If renewing Stewart's contact isn't doable withing our financial limits then so be it
I agree mate, it's easy to throw figures around and "give him what he wants" but 20k a week is £1million a year, that's a a big lump out of our budget if we are aiming for 70% of income
Agreed. We (the club) are damned if we do and damned if we don't. If Stewart leaves, the usual negative people will come out and question the "ambition etc" of the owner. If we give him a contract that then puts us in the red in terms of FFP, the same whoppers will be banging the "he's just a naive kid" drum. It's no win
I told everyone how much Pritch was on, no where near what some said It shows Ross on £2900 p week that was in Div 1 he is on triple that at the min
Unfortunately your right mate. However what we can do as fans is enjoy the ride, enjoy the team and hope that those that want to be negative eventually give up (not going to happen) The next loss we suffer, they will be out in force
You said Ross is on triple what he was on, which would be around £9k and out best offer for a new contract is £9.8k?
2022 has been bloody brilliant (within context) for the fans - to be going to games and seeing us win, going to Wembley, seeing us genuinely compete in a higher league has been ****ing fantastic
Bob on this page alone you’ve said Stewart is already on £9k per week and that our best offer is £9k per week? give or take that can’t be right surely?
