I don't think it works for everyone. I found it works if you only focus on the green dot and don't blink. It reminds me of something I learned on an advanced driving course, of why there are so many road accidents at road junctions, because people didn't see the oncoming vehicle, which is why it is always important to look twice, much like the green cross code use to encourage.
