    This for me as well.

Ballard and Stewart can have a week off for certain, after both being out with injury.

Clarke, Neil, Stewart, Amad and Patto don't need to even see Shrewsbury let alone start

As much as a cup run would be great, we have to concentrate on the league imo

Yup. I reckon we could put out a weak team and still beat them. They are having a poor season and lost heavily yesterday. We should recall Winniesta and play against them just for the sheer ****offery of it all :emoticon-0140-rofl:

I would agree with you regarding giving players a rest, however, I don't think we have much choice regarding the defence due to injuries unless TM is willing to promote the U23s

    A bit of a conundrum...
My theory on Clarke was that when he got knackered his form dipped.

Yesterday the longer the game went on the better he became... so much for my theory :emoticon-0133-wait:

Aye, thats the sticking point. Maybe play Hume, Wright, O’Nien and Alese, then flood the midfield with kids and stick Bennette up front

Said exactly the same. Stunk the place out for 60 mins then turned into Garrincha

A cracking day out and a good catch up with old friends. Sadly all to brief. 1st half not really at it at all 2nd half totally dominated the game and with a little bit better final ball could have nicked all 3points. Thought Hume was excellent at full back and Ballard is some centre half. Clarke started slowly but grew into the game 2nd half. Ba did very well when he came on gets around the pitch very well. Felt for Mitchut wasn’t his type of game they were physical and roughed him up just didn’t have the time or space he did at Wigan. I still believe that there is a player in there is very comfortable on the ball. Give the lad time. Anyway 7 points out of nine with 2 games on the road isn’t a bad haul over the xmas period. Bit of a breather for the lads now and hopefully the likes of bath Cirkin Alese and Gooch back . Keep the faith lads and lasses.

Yep. He was very good second half after looking tired earlier.

Just one of those days yesterday. Still very good going IMO, especially with the injury load

A good sign though. Clarke keeps going. Not the first time he's shone in the second half .

The lad is a great dribbler of the ball and likes to take defenders on, but I sometimes wish he would release the ball earlier to a team mate in a better position.

A real pleasure to see you again, and briefly spend time with the other lads. Sadly Blackpool is always a bit messy, with the queues at the ground, the endless rain and pubs crowded with day trippers.

But excellent nonetheless and a good point by a team playing real football ...

.... Mrs Smug sends her love.

The defence is a real problem area atm. but to needlessly burn out O/9 would be reckless, get the U23's involved at least two of them if necessary to start.
To burn out O/9, Ballard and Hume would be reckless in our current situation, same with Neil and LND they are all vital to our League programme imo.

Hume and Ballard have barely played. I think they should be fine to play on Sat. Agree re O9 though

Unless we are 100% confident that Batth will be fit enough to start against Swansea, I wouldn't risk Ballard against Shrewsbury. Same situation for Hume. Will Gooch or Huggins be fit on 14th, should Hume get injured? If the answer is no, I would stick Richardson and/or Johnson in.

Agreed. There’s no need for a single risk down at Shrewsbury. Have the likes of Bass, Johnson, Matete, Dajaku, Rigg and Bennette starting.

I agree that we need to protect some players but I’d be disappointed to see a completely makeshift team against Shrewsbury. Give the fringe players a decent chance to win imo.
