My point exactly. You’ll get a lot of actual fans not bothering but those tickets will just get snapped up by tourists and owners won’t care who watches, as long as someone does.

    it’s an impossible situation.

Way things are going just wait for Potter to get sacked then hire him. He'll be far better suited for Spurs than Chelsea.

ENIC took over from the misery of Sugar though, they would have had to be complete Buffoons not to improve on that shower of an ownership. Before Sugar, we were regular qualifiers for Europe (when not banned courtesy of the Mousers) and regular winners of trophies also.

Imagine conceding to Aurier when he's not even playing for you! <laugh>

Sugar took over from Irving Scholar, who nearly bankrupted us.

I don’t disagree but can’t think of one major club that have had owners bullied out.

Took a whole country to bid for Newcastle before Ashley sold, United have been whinging for years (despite the investment the glazers actually give them). same with arsenal who do seem to have got it right though.

big clubs nowadays, unless their profits are hit then owners aren’t selling unless a proper big offer comes in.

3 points above us with over half a season to go and I gotta deal with this ****

So the best way is to boycott games

If only our fans had it in them to do this....just 2 home PL games and I think it would become obvious and it would be highlighted in the media...get the ball rolling

That`s not the point though is it, though no surprise you put that slant on it, The point is, pre Sugar, ENIC and Scholar nearly bankrupting us, we were fairly regular winners of silverware and qualifiers for Europe, so ENIC have not even taken us back to the levels we once were, they qualify us for Europe and that`s it.

I'm going to go out on a limb and suggest that bankrupting the club wouldn't be good.
    Slanty take, I know.

I never said it would be, again that`s not the point. It`s a completely different argument and nothing more than a diversionary tactic to try and deflect away from our real problems. ENIC and all their fan boys.

Martin Jol mixed young players with experience and moved us forwards playing attacking football.
Levy treated him with contempt as he chased "a big name witha winning mentality".
Ramos spent shed loads unbalancing the squad and we went backwards in the league.

We then had Redknapp who was very similar to Jol. He also mixedyounger players with experienced one and produced attacking football that took us forwards.

We then spent a fortune under AVB and completely changed our style of play again.

That was corrected by by Pochettino and since him we reverted to unattacking managers.

We need to decide what kind of club we are and stick with that.

Are we a club that develops players while bring in experienced ones and playing attacking football or are we a club that buys ready made players only and play "grind out a win" football?

Changing from one to the other every few years is a joke.

Levy is unable to choose managers and allow them to do their job properly.

    Hoddle ... 2 yrs
    Pleat ... 9 months
    Santini ... 4 months
    Jol ... 4 years
    Ramos ... 11 months
    Redknapp...3 and a half years
    AVB ... 18 months
    Sherwood ... 6 months
Pochettino... 5 and a half years
    Mourinho ... 18 months
    Mason ... 6 games
    Nuno ... 4 months
Conte ... 14 months so far

    13 managers in 21 years (12 permanent managers ).
I've included Mason cos Levy sacked JM 6 days before a cup final to distract from the ESL that he dragged us into <doh>.

Out of the 12 permanent appointments
Only 4 lasted 2 years or more.

5 lasted less than a year.

Only Jol, Redknapp and Pochettino really improved us. You can say Conte, but only last season, because now our football is as poor as anything Nuno or JM produced.

Levy's record at closing managers is very poor.

I think his management of spurs has been appalling since the stadium opened.
But I do not see him leaving so this jumping from horse to horse (manager wise) will continue.

I don’t think that will make a difference to be honest. 45k of fans are ST holders. So even if they don’t go, Spurs already have 45k worth of ticket revenue plus the portion of away fans each game (circa 4K I think). So even if a worse case scenario happened and no ST holders turned up and no home fans bought single matchday tickets, ENIC would only be out of pocket by about 11k fans plus probably £1m in food and drink sales, which will hurt but nowhere near enough to make them think “time to sell” in my opinion.

Noticed some criticism of the referee in the thread, so I'll just leave this here.
John Brooks is from the Midlands. He's reffed Villa 7 times. They've won all 7, conceding once. <whistle>

ENIC won't own us forever. It's time to push for better management/ownership...,with or without them.

But via our league position (I was quite explicit about that) 5 times in over 50 years. And yes we did use to win cups (and I wish we still did) and what did the pundits of the time tell us? Anyone can win a cup its just 6 games, the 'good' teams are consistent in the league over 38 (used to be 42 games) and it cannot be denied that we are more consistent in the league than we have ever been.

I am not resistant to change Billy and I do think that ENIC have probably taken as far as they are prepared to take us, but don't try to rewrite history to match your agenda.

No, he's definitely the issue, in my opinion.

Overly negative football and a system that he's married to, but which only works with Kulusevski.
Perisic has negated the effectiveness of Son and we've got no creativity.
Our central midfielders are all box-to-box players and there are no playmakers or holding players.
We're also constantly moving players around and picking people out of position.
Then he makes excuses after every negative result and hints at leaving.

I'm finding it hard keeping up with these excuses... you're beginning to sound like deontay wilder.
