Not watching the game but following the BBC text. This quote is from Andy Legg ‘Jade Philogene is a player that excites me, he's got good feet, he can draw free kicks, maybe get a penalty, he can run at players. I like him, he's a very good player.’ Anyone agree?
It was a case of one point dropped as we were never going to score. That’s 3 and a half games without a goal. Unlucky I suppose not to draw 0-0 as their goal was so fluky. Fear we are going down unless a proper manager is installed and/or we get some decent strikers in. Harris is not good enough at this level
Ok ...1-0 defeat away to a top 3 team on a turgid pitch with a deflected goal isn't the end of the world but we need to work on scoring from deflections ourselves because none of our forwards can hit a cow's arse with a banjo at the moment
Yet another really frustrating game. We absolutely could have come away with a point but just never really made that final pass or get a decent strike on goal again. Agree that Harris isn't up to the standard required by us now. His work right is fine but he rarely manages to produce any end product sadly (in saying that, Robbo aside none of our attacking players are delivering). Unless we get the embargo lifted then I just can't see us scoring enough goals to win enough games to stay up comfortably. Defensively we're much better now but it seems no matter what we try going forward, it just isn't working. Aaargh....
That’s 7 points out last 9 games scoring just 5 goals which is relegation form which often leads to the manager being sacked.
You do begin to wonder how long VT will stick by Huds. Morison was sacked (apparently) because of a lack of wins and concerns about relegation. It's plainly obvious that things haven't improved. Problem is, bringing in yet another manager does nothing for continuity and stability
In fairness Morison was also sacked due to his poor attitude (some say bullying) of younger players, lack of respect to club management and staff and, apparently, telling VT to foxtrot oscar. Some on here may agree with his approach but that was not the way to stay in a job. Hudson has to work with the squad he inherited. 17 new players, how many are any good? I see a club in total disarray from the top down.
If you need to survive on loan players and other teams hand be down this is what happens, we were always going to struggle for goals from day one.
Not in this team he's not. You could argue all day long that the pitch today didn't suit him which makes it all the more unbelievable that Hudson put him on. Desperation management comes to mind when you introduce a ball playing lightweight onto a gluepot environment - he was never gping to skip past defenders on that surface.
I agree but his only other options were the sub keeper Luthra and Nelson. Could have got Nelson on and shoved Cipre upfront earlier than he did. Desperation though.
I heard Hudson apologised to the players for going 5 at the back. I can’t get my head around that. He’s a nice guy but out of his depth as a manager which is becoming more worrying.
