I know your trying to be modest aswell as pessimistic at the same time, but i cant think of any team who is better than Newcastle accept the top six right now, and i'd argue Newcastle is better than liverpool. Especially Villa, They've had a far easier run in than you lot have had ( and thats saying something ) and yet their still i think its 8th right now, and ten points behind you
said 9th at the start of the season but if things go our way (injuries etc.) can see us pushing and getting 7th
And i think things have gone your way. And you proved yesterday against everton you can cope with injuries, obertan, marvauex, Cabaye, Tiote.
aye we did we just need to make sure nobody leaves in jan and if that happens and we add a LB/CB and a FWD i think we'll push even higher but we'll wait and see.What is encouraging is we are a solid unit that even when we play badly (QPR springs to mind) we grind the result out and are a difficult team to beat.
You're right, before the match even started we were also missing Ameobi and Williamson, and prior to that have had Vuckic, Santon, Ben Arfa, Ferguson and Guthrie missing.
