joyce is someone who has to at least talk to someone before firing articles out simply due to the paper he writes for being "above" making stuff up.

I would only assume someone in question means staff at lfc of some sort.

 

Well....

the thing is joyce was first out on boxing day and was first out on nunez in summer as well so he is at least linked in yhe lfc side.

he was told the same after nunez, no new signings. then we got two injuries and we take Arthur on a panic loan on deadline day.

the fact is its not quite true to say nobody got a sniff. he was told first when it was done, which is a lot different to the wild making up of stuff others get up to based on agents, bad actors or creative thinking.

he's now felt secure enough to say we won't be buying any more then I strongly suggests the club want him to say that as its never in a papers interests to make up a story that lfc fans can stop reading thier section now.

unless we get injuries it looks like we are done?

the 17 foreign slots being taken supports this as well.

I don't know of anyone wanting our midfielders either dlsadly

 

he does but his contract length and Brighton selling record doesn't. they screwed every penny out of Chelsea last summer and will glady demand what they see as the price for caicedo not which would be 65mil min and I hear their fans say 80. he is 100% #onthelist

Klopp has said he likes to do things quietly and there's been a lot of noise around certain players so chances are we will have someone lined up who nobody is expecting. I agree with you that a large January spend seems unlikely.

I've said before that Joyce is more trustworthy than most but even he isn't told everything. I'm sure if we looked there would be several occasions when he's said we are done and we aren't.

 

I wonder whether Brighton would accept a cheeky bid for MacAllister.

 

As I said, he reports what is told and circumstances might change exactly as my point on Arthur arriving as panic loan shows; however until circumstances do change imo it is folly to hope for a player to arrive when in fact the club is telling fans via their friendly asset that one won't be.

There is zero point in going mad now or on Jan 31 if one doesn't arrive.

The numbers dont lie, there's 17 foreigh players in the squad and 7 hg, so unless we have a player leave, get injured for more than 5 months or we find an English hg player to buy.......

Not really the player we need. Think we need energy and out of the 2 Brighton cm’s caicedo is that player. Mac Allister has been good this year but is more a passer from a deeper role who can also tackle rather than someone to inject some energy into the team.

 

I tend to go with this; if we keep hearing a name linked in the media, it probably isn't true. And if it was a possiblity, the constant media rumours will put us off (can only come from the selling side)

we would need imo 60mil release fee if true and 75mil for caicedo
