I suppose Howes hands are somewhat tied until Wilson max and isak are fit and after last week he couldn't really change the side. Ultimately Newcastle are in the top 4 and the window opens soon and they'll get one or two in that will be far superior to **** like longstaff and Murphy. The so called big 6 will spend big though and now the world cup is done they'll play play better than before. I feel like we need to forget to 4 because it'll result in feeling disappointed.. there's no chance of that whatsoever of it . Tbh top 8 is as good as a miracle as we'll get with this squad... the % of championship players is about 70% of the squad.
Also credit to Leeds they did exactly what they needed to do and needed thst point .. fair play to them
Wood is a liability. Hay be good in the box to nod down headers, or set pieces, but he has the turning circle of a bus, plus he's very chunky. 94kg is a lot for a footballer these days.
Exactly, like us for the last 10 years, people need to calm down, yes bad day at the office but Leeds are fighting for every point which we know what that's like, get something Tuesday, then 2 Cup games and we'll be back on track for Fulham. Happy New Year
It's like there's nothing going on in between his ears most of the time.. Nice lad bit just not good enough if Newcastle want to compete with the top 8. Ultimately we're way ahead of where anyone anticipated , so it's all good a point in the bag unbeaten in 14 and a free hit at Arsenal to look fwd to .
Newcastle fans have been sucked into the media hype and started to think they're a genuine top 4 challenger after only 16 games. The reality is Newcastle have had a good start, but simply do not have the quality ti come anywhere close to 4th over a full season. If Newcastle finish 7th or 8th that's fantastic and we all knew that pre season.
Yeah, pretty much this. They came to do one thing and one thing only…and that’s why they’re called Dirty Leeds. Really ****s me off when teams come and play like that and we don’t just ****ing smash them into oblivion but we will over time! Get Maddison in and signed tomorrow and get him straight in for that ****ehouae longstaff against arsenal!
Leeds were well in the game 1st half and second half they said come on then and newcastle failed to beat them. I felt like they deserved the point newcastle created nothing all huff ,puff and complaining at the ref . The petulance shown at the end was embarrassing also given what we did at Anfield.
Funny thing is if we drew at Leicester and won today we'd be happy, same thing pointwise so, c'est la vie.
Nothing is guaranteed in football, and sure, our squad doesn't have the depth of any of our rivals. But our form has been top 3 or 4 since January. That's 12 months of top four form. Maybe it's overachieving and it's inevitable that the wheels will come off. With the fit strikers we have we're going to get results like today. They're not Champions league quality. Saying that even the best sides - Man City -don't always win the games that they probably should. My early prediction - very much my hope - was top six. IMO that's achievable and likely. I'd now be disappointed with 7th or 8th. It's been a fabulous year. Hope 2023 follows suit.
