Happy New Year for all (again) Cheltenham 13,55 Simply The Betts 18/1 e/w PP and Betfair five places, 16/1 WH and sky six places (Yes, I know who's the jockey) 14,30 First Street 11/2 Lisnagar Fortune runs at Tramore (13,05) top weight, 33/1 Unibet for Albert Bartlett, 25/1 all the others.
I foresee a good day for Nigel Twiston-Davies at Cheltenham: 12.10 Weveallbeencaught 12.45 Poppa Poutine 1.20 Beauport 2.30 I like To Move It
Happy new year ladies & gentlemen.. I’m off to my local track Fakenham tomorrow so if you fancy passing on your expertise on each race i would be most grateful. Looking forward to watching the Toojumper wink wink nudge nudge.
Interesting they’ve taken her all the way to Fakenham when she’s got an entry at Hereford in the week.
Not particularly, she had breathing issues last season and I don’t think they’ve been resolved. It’s an absolutely shocking race though and she could get away with it all.
Tricky card especially 14.55. Without going crazy and just for fun I like Gerico Valle 7/1 (14.20) and although 14.55 race is hell to bet on like Carrigdoun Boy 17/2 e/w. Have a good time.
Cheltenham 12,45 Rapper 17/2 e/w betfair and PP four places, sky 15/2 five places Musselburgh 14,45 Homme Public 4/1
It will be all about the ground today, but who knows what the ground will be like at each of the tracks. It seems the safest one to predict is Exeter which will be bottomless bordering on unraceable. Cheltenham is apparently not too bad, so should provide perfect ground for the racing. Yet we have non runners! As such I am predicting it will be truly soft ground today and a test as it should be in jumps racing. It should be perfect for Botox Has in the Relkeel and I think Venetia Williams (Queen of the mud) will have a good day in the handicap chases. However it is the junior bumper, or a race for backward flat horses that catches my attention, and one runner who is trying to follow Glory And Fortune in the feat of winning this on racecourse debut. The horse comes from Hughie Morrison (he of a great Cheltenham bumper record) and it is Gallant Approach. If nothing else it has a good name, which as many will know, means its more likely to have a career in the sport!! My thoughts through the card R1 - Gentle Slopes was outpaced last time over the shorter distance, today should suit this bumper winner and I think he will have more tactical speed than the favourite (who looks every inch a chaser). The Henderson horse is the trump card here, whilst Future Investment will probably look dangerous but will he throw his head in the air and dog it? R2 - Venetia Williams with Poppa Putine as the danger R3 - Beauport is on a recovery mission, he needs to jump much better, but he can do that and I don't like the market leaders. R4 - Take your pick!! I think Brave Seasca is a backable price, but I also like Sebastopol the rogue, Demachine and Nassalam. It is that sort of race!! R5 - The ground will be key here, with Knappers Hill, I Like To Move It and First Street being the unexposed "trendy" horses whilst Marie's Rock, Dashel Drasher and Botox Has have got the experience and could be horses that relish this more. I like Botox Has. R6 - DOLPHIN SQUARE. The man, the myth, the Maxwell!! Hector Javilex and Brinkley are too big in the market too R7 - First to the car wins.
2.55 Haafapiece e/w would be my tentative pick on that Fakenham card. Won the race 2 years ago off 125.
yes , it’s her local track , haafapiece is still capable but a place is probably the best you can hope today . Wishing you the best of luck there ,!
