I'll be honest, I didn't think he'd make it at Liverpool, certainly not to this absurd level he's reached, I thought he'd make it in the Prem but at a middling club as a solid LB. I always thought he was a bit light defensively and that at the top end he'd be found out. In all honesty thought his last season with us that Odubajo was a better wing back then him, shows what I know I suppose, absolutely delighted for him in the end, just as I am for Bowen at WHU. If we can't be in the prem at least a couple who we've discovered and developed are.
Moses was a real prospect, absolutely 1000% destined for the Premier league...Injury fcked him, never looked the same!
I thought he still looked good, even after the injury, he’s still playing in the Greek top flight (and Europe) and no doubt enjoying the sunshine, so probably not too upset.
I don't know what charity work he does but I know loads of people who do loads of charity work who would never get anywhere near an honour simply because there are so many of them. I just think the honours system is way past it's sell by date. I, along with many others, do voluntary work for a local charity in my area. Our chief exec was honoured couple of years ago, good for her, we were all very pleased. But as she said, why me? I do a job and I get paid a salary, I'm no different to any other person doing a job.
Funny as I remember a few Liverpool “supporting” mates saying how he was great defensively and not that good going forward. For me he was suspect at the back and had a tendency to dive in when he played for us. Always different class going forward though.
In hindsight it was yes, if Moreno had never got injured though he may have stayed in the reserves and never got a run of games to become the player he is today? They paid £10m for a back up left back at the time and thanks to the world class coaching they’ve turned him from a nippy engine with a wand of a left peg into the best left back in the world of the last 4 seasons. It took him until December 2017 for him to start 3+ games consecutively. It wasn’t until then did people start criticising the fee.
It’s just how Klopp works with players. Robertson was never brought in to that club to play second fiddle.
People get put forward for honours, if you think someone deserve one, put their name forward rather than complain about who else has got one (unless you're complaining about honours handed out by the PM of the day in which case, knock yourself out).
I’d agree there are many instances of it being a **** cronyism system but I think Robbo’s is well deserved.
Admire what he had done but a thread on this board is way too much , he’s been , he’s gone and like Stuart Pearson etc he won’t like being reminded he was here once unless we make the Premiership . Many players who’ve made it like to forget their humble beginnings when at the top , human nature .
not sure hull city is a humble beginning, we played in the premier league with him now queens park sure and dundee
What rot! I'm sure he's grateful for his time at City and won't forget it. What's not to appreciate about what he's subsequently achieved football wise and contributed to others less fortunate than himself. You need the Scrooge thread.
