Happy birthday to your good lady mate.
Are you letting her leave the kitchen today as a treat?

    1) Go to the pub more with the dog
    2) Write more letters to older relatives who will appreciate it

Thinking of trying to combine the two into a “pint and post” evening at least once a week.

Are these real actual genuine physical letters for old cants who can't log into a computer?

Reminds me of after Christmas, where my mum would counteract the fun of getting my presents, with the sadistic punishment of making me "thank you letters" to all the old knackers.

My brother sent a 'thank you' card to our aunt but instead of thanking her for his shirt he accidentally wrote ****. <laugh>

I did keep up the thank you letters tradition for a few years after I left home cos the old farts were getting on and I felt sorry for them.

Unfortunately I didn't realise my great aunt was dead, and sent for thank you letters for 2 years after she'd copped it.

    Oops.

But, what were you thanking her for?

I had just assumed that some of the ****e I'd got that year was from her as I robotically wrote the list of letters to the same old farts. Turns out she was a bit dead.

Fencing coach turned up at my school and offered to teach some classes after school - thought I'd give it a go and discovered I wasn't too bad - progressed from there to local fencing club, the Uni and then to much better clubs when I moved down to London.

Was reserve for World Student Games team in '92 and then from '95 was in senior GB men's épée training squad until 2002 when injury somewhat got in the way .....

Nice one mate. I'm picturing you with the white outfit on and meshed helmet, one hand behind your back, the other holding an outstretched arm bearing a thin sword (apologies if terminology wrong). I always think you are lucky in life if you have an interest that gives you great pleasure.

I'm also picturing you practicing your fencing on a picture of a bloke from Consett who wears mustard chinos...<whistle>

Why just use a picture when you can practice on the real thing?
