You missed a good one. https://www.skysports.com/watch/vid...mingham-0-1-hull-city-championship-highlights These are better
I think Birmingham's match against burnley and a days less rest was in our favour. But it was a very good performance from us and we deserved it. Thanks to acun for the free travel. The city fans were immense and it felt good to be one of them. Onwards to wigan next.
But it's not ridiculous. Ingram made a mistake in his judgement; as you said, we played it out perfectly fine last night and it worked. Plus, it'll only get better as the lads get more used to it. What some people were doing was being impatient and not thinking about the process, which takes many weeks and months. If you get chance, look at the performance vs Millwall to the one last night. After seven games it's already markedly different. 21 games still to play, I'm quietly optimistic we'll finish higher than we did last season.
It was crystal clear that Rosenior had fine tuned his instructions to the keeper / defence about playing it about at the back for yesterday's game. Nothing to do with them somehow almost overnight getting more used to the style. They clearly weren't so obsessive about it, even though Birmingham were not pressing as much as Blackpool, and that has to have come directly from Rosenior. They mixed it up sensibly. Long may that continue.
The interest will impact the odds, yeah. If there was to be a stupid bid to match the stupid asking price, it would have to come from the Middle East or China. But he's less likely to be picked for his national team playing out there than he would be playing in England.
What is ridiculous is taking a goal kick and passing to a defender two or three yards away and the defender passes the ball back to the goal keeper the attackers close down the defenders so the goalkeeper panics and kicks a 50:50 ball to a midfielder what we did last night was a goalkeeper who passes the ball to a player on the touchline 30 yards away or kicks it up field we having to continue not allowing our opponents to score easy goals from our cock ups
It doesnt matter whether we lose the ball in our own penalty area or because we panic because of the risk of losing the ball in our own penalty area and make a poor pass to a player - Seri or Woods - 25 yards from goal it's important that the goalkeeper passes to a player who is unmarked outside our own penalty area if there isnt such a player than I would prefer a clearance upfield where we have a 50% chance of retaining possession it's better than having a 50% chance of losing possession close to our goal
Thanks, I enjoyed that. A tidy performance all over the pitch, a nice balance between offence & defence. Possibly our best showing this season. Now to do it at home…..
It will depend on what tactics he uses not on whether we win or lose people will rightly be critical if we win 3-2 and lose two goals due to putting ourselves under pressure at the back by playing around in our own penalty area
It happened twice, which is unfortunate but part of the learning curve. You’ll notice yesterday the back line was calmer and still played out from the back. Not every time, but enough that we could keep the tempo up and it resulted in a win. Hoofing it up leaves it as a 50:50 for our very short midfield to battle for. The two mistakes were goalkeeping mistakes (in fact one was Woods’ mistake if I’m being honest), not tactical ones.
Anyone got up excited - again!!! Read every bit if info , watched all the highlight sources, can’t wait for Wigan ? It’s not good for the brain but it’s better than being mediocre year after year but safe - like Man U LOL or Spurs etc .
you still seem to think people are criticising playing out from the back people are criticising playing the ball to a defender well inside the penalty are who promptly passes the ball back to the goalkeeper what is the point of that? it invites unwanted pressure just before Oscar nearly scoring from a goalkeeper error Ingram played the ball to a defender in the penalty area who immediately passed to a player on the wing quick movement and passes out to unmarked players is always better than risking a cock up
