please log in to view this image Newcastle Utd v Leeds Utd Saturday 31st December@15:00 | St James Park Tyler Adams returns to the fold after suspension, as Leeds face the daunting task of a trip to St James Park on New Year's Eve. Eddie Howe's Magpies are souring high in 3rd place, seven points adrift of pace setters Arsenal. They have only lost once, and have the stingiest defence in the entire Football League, having conceded just 11 league goals all season After back to back loses, Leeds will be desperate for something, to keep distance between themselves and the bottom five, and will be heartened that Crysencio Summerville is fit to participate. The 21yo was an unused substitute against Manchester City on Wednesday night. Had the scoreline been tighter, I'm sure Summerville would have had a run out. Jack Harrison may have to do with a spot on the bench on Saturday, in favour of Wilfred Gnonto. The Italian International knows no fear, and put in a real shift against Citeh. Luis Sinisterra, Patrick Bamford and Stuart Dallas all miss out through injury. Newcastle will be without Jonjo Shelvey, Alexander Isak, Paul Dummett. The trio are all suffering from shin / heel injuries. Emil Krafth (knee) and Callum Wilson (illness) are also unlikely to feature.
No doubt it's a tough challenge but we've played well at Anfield and were more than a little unlucky at Spurs. Gut feeling is we can go to the Saudi Beheaders Arena without fear and hopefully come away with something from the game.
These are my personal Cup Tie games as I live in the area and most people I hang around with are bar codes. I want so much to beat them as I need something to play with and feel good factor in our Football chats. I just hope the Football Gods are kind and we can turn up and bring something to the party. It would be the best year ever winning today as tonight would be all mine!
The two days extra rest for Newcastle is a big advantage. We always struggle on short turnarounds. Can't see us getting anything here.
please go away and post your krap somewhere else.your profile is restricted so no one can even see who you support.what are you afraid of anyway.
Looking forward to this one way more than the City game. Not saying we'll get anything but hoping for a good performance and keeping everything crossed.
Ordinarily I'd say it's a game we could possibly get something from but as I say that extra two days rest and prep for Newcastle is huge. I'm not sure how it's allowed to be honest. It's not exactly a level playing field.
To counteract that we might see Harrison & Summerville come in... Maybe even Llorente, Ayling and Firpo as well. Plus we should have Tyler Adams back after suspension.
Think Adams coming back to replace Forshaw is a positive, as would be minutes from Harrison and /or Summerville. Rodrigo was anonymous on Wednesday, so him turning up at the barcodes is essential. Actually think we could nick a point here.
3-0 Toon, and Cooper to be sent off for a poor challenge in the box on 27 mins. Almirón to put penalty away....
