January transfer thread

Suppose it’s better it’s happened at the start of the window gives us plenty time to get bodies in, handy there’s a league break next week too hopefully have someone in by Swansea

 

After watching Simms n Amad perform well I would imagine there are a few Premier clubs wanting to loan us players.

 

No player is irreplaceable. I would hate to lose him as i think hes class but remember hardly anyone knew about him before we signed him so def a good chance theres a player out there that could be as good.

Also if you use the money well you can improve the overall team

As i said id hate to lose him but he is not irreplaceable- hard to replace yes but not irreplaceable

 

Any flying in prem academies? I know a few have mentioned Archer but don’t know of any others

 

Nobody is irreplaceable really if we are willing to spend what is required to get someone in who is of equal ability and can fit straight into the team, I get that.

However losing someone of Stewart’s calibre mid season would be a complete disaster. Morale would be affected and we would likely need to change our system…we could all see it didn’t really work when he was injured.

 

Exactly and we did well for callum doyle last season so teams will happily send us youngsters now

Id love cameron archer, hes a level above simms imo

I mentioned on the other thread that ewan ferguson of brighton would be a good loan signing. Hes a big lad with good pace n works hard

 

Seen it’s took all of 10 mins for Clarke Harris to be linked again

 

He is only leaving if we accept a bid. As I have said elsewhere the ball isn't all in Stewart or his agents court

 

Full international at 18 too, interesting!

 

Aye he scored a few but he’s a completely different type of player, pretty sure he’s a winger.

 

Scout seems clued up and I'd be happy with any of the couple he has mentioned especially the big physical lad.

 

Still gutted about it. Though I reckon he may be back at the end of Jan !

I know a couple teams are in talks with brighton about him - no idea who.

Watched him a few times and he's got great potential but reckon he could do a job now.

My 1st choice would be archer who im a huge fan off n 2nd would be this lad

 

Interested to see if they recall broadhead too, if not that will really show him where he is in the pecking order there

 

Decent gap after tomorrow so no excuse now. Have to go into the market and get a striker. No more garbage waffle about using Clarke or Djaku as a striker.

 

Luckily we at least have a decent scouting setup these days.

I’m sure we will have a list of players similar to Simms and have an idea of who may be available. This is why we have invested heavily in the analytics side of football.
