In another universe we beat Reading, Sunderland and Blackpool like our play arguably deserved and we'd be sat in 6th right now. It's an unbelievable league
It would take a sizeable fee to prize him away, enough to sign an absolute dead cert in terms of goalscoring. I mean it would have to be somebody like Jordan Rhodes in his prime being available to make us consider it. I don't think he'll leave, but if he did, the fee we would get would be ridiculous.
If we lost him we should do whatever it takes to get Ross Stewart from Sunderland. As his overall play would actually improve us and would probably cost 1/10th of what we’d get for Oscar
that came about because Rosie changed his stance on the '****ing about at the back' bit - more long balls from the back - the danger is he reverts to type - we can only hope he doesn't because we were much better tonight
I think Ross Stewart would be upwards of £10m, that's the price Rangers have been quoted and I think that's ridiculous for a player out of contract at the end of the season.
But where do you find a dead cert goalscorer who wants to come to us quickly? We should be doing whatever is needed to keep him, at least until the summer.
We played virtually the same style we've played in every game under Rosie tonight. Slightly more long balls but that's due to having the pace of Sayyadmanesh in behind, something we haven't had before.
Birmingham City head coach John Eustace told BBC Radio WM: "I thought the lads looked really leggy. The game at Burnley took a lot out of us, the attitude and effort on Tuesday was fantastic, but we just couldn't get going today. "It (the goal) was sloppy play from us. We gave the ball away very cheaply and we got punished which you will do at this level. "We can't wait until the last minute to get what was probably our best chance of the game. We had a couple of half-chances throughout the game. We huffed and puffed, and it's something we need to look at and make sure we're better against Middlesbrough." Hull City manager Liam Rosenior told BBC Radio Humberside: "I've been frustrated for a while because our performances maybe haven't warranted the points total that we've got, but the players keep being consistent and I was delighted with every aspect of their performance today. "I thought we played some outstanding football at times, the goal was a great move and we've got that in the team. "So it's just finding that balance every game between having really good discipline, energy and commitment, but at the same time using our quality with the ball."
It was more direct with a much higher tempo, we didn't pass it around at the back for the sake of it either. Whether it was the players or Rosie, the way we played tonight changed and hopefully it stays this way and we build on it. I know he's not the most popular, but I think Doc made a difference tonight as well
I was really impressed with this performance. The way Rosie has got us conceding fewer whilst also playing some good stuff is really impressive. I’m looking forward to seeing what happens once the January transfer window is dealt with.
