Newcastle only lost one match to Liverpool in August and the results included a 3-3 with Man City. We are kissing goodbye to December now so when you say Howe has been in charge 14 months, results were looking up 5 months back so he pretty much transformed them in a 9 month spell Jesse isn't even close to us being transformed, everyone said give him the summer and a transfer window, now we need to give him longer. Several players have gone backwards under him, he isn't the right man for the job and everyone else will be calling for his head soon enough. If we could keep them both, Drameh and Cresswell have had a good season each in the Championship
Don't agree as we need to keep pascal and we have two more centre backs needing game time. So if we go down Ayling and maybe dallas but the rest can go but forshaw i think we are stuck with.
The big difference is they can shop for one or two in that 50 or 60m bracket and pay wages accordingly. Our hands are tied and can’t even look at that quality of a player
I didn't pass comment, other than to say i rate Howe, I just stated some facts... marsch hasn't had the 12 months you said he has, and Howe has had a net spend of £200m more than ours... he didn't have to sell his two best players to fund some desperately needed squad development. This season is largely a new team. If Eddie Howe managed leeds we might well be doing better than we are, as i said i like him, but we sure as fck wouldn't be 3rd in the table. If i managed man city and pep guardiola managed leeds, man city would be worse and leeds better, but man city would still finish above us.
good point perhaps when we played leeds i would change my in-depth match plan from 'pass it around a bit then stick it in the net boys' to 'pass it around a bit and then pass it them lads' which coincidentally appeared to be Jesse's match strategy on Wednesday
When you play City you need runners going beyond the ball, just like Dallas did at the Etihad and that's why Tottenham always do well against them. On Wednesday all our attacking players kept coming short for balls to feet which plays into their hands.
Everton 2 pts Southampton 2 pts Fulham 3pts Villa 2pts Wolves 3pts I picked realistic games where maybe a better coach could have picked up more points, those are the games with the total points lost. I am not claiming Eddie would have managed to get those points but they're not out of the question. It would give us 6th spot so when you say sure as fck wouldn't be 3rd, it's not as far away from being possible as you might imagine. We've dropped 5 points against teams in the bottom three, 7 points bottom four
We beat Wolves, the defeat was in the cup. Southampton was a blow, one where I thought , that could come back to haunt us.
