Personally I would like to see JWP dropped. He has been garbage all season. And as captain, I want him driving the team forward and not the safe sidewards or backwards pass that has so often stalled any momentum that we have picked up in games. As a replacement, I struggle, but at the moment anyone.
We talk about entitled fans, what about entitled players. Disappointed by not going to the world cup, does he has any concept of how he has played since August?

The bit I don’t believe is that Saints have any ‘stars’. Mind you I haven’t seen their Xmas tree.

 

Very much hoping this is bullshit as if this is true, we are as good as down.

 

It’s a pinch of salt story, but it runs along similar lines to ‘players not happy’ stories that seemed to seep out towards the end of RH.

Let’s pretend it’s true for a sec my thoughts would be:

1. Concerning that ‘dressing room disagreement’ stories are coming out so soon.

2. If stories towards the end of RH and the beginning of NJ are true then player attitude could be a problem, potentially unwilling to work with multiple managers.

3. Why is the new manager attempting to enforce a defensive set up that was tried by the previous manager and shown to repeatedly fail with this squad?

I’m not sure about Football Insider as a source tbh, but I would say we aren’t usually considered big or interesting enough for these kind of stories to be entirely invented.

 

Ralph’s back two was often just a veiled back three with either Rom or JWP dropping in.

 

Turns out there is an upside to being bottom of the league!

What does this table actually show?

 

We played 3 at the back under Ralph, we played fluid formations with 3 at the back in possession when Romeu was here and I think we recruited with 3 at the back in mind. On paper it should be a good fit allowing the likes of perraud, KWP, Larios and livramento freedom to get forwards. The CBs won’t care, they just want a game, the fullbacks will be ok with it. DeZerbi has shown how effective it can be.

IF the players are reluctant, and they were reluctant to play the great 4222 that Ralph implemented then they need to go asap. Makes them uncoachable and inflexible.
