Before this season Honeyman managed 1 in 4 attacking returns in 3 of his last 4 seasons (including one season of 1 in 3 in League One for us) and the season before that managed the high benchmark of 1 in 5, meaning before joining Milwall he had a 1 in 5 or better in 4 of his last 5 seasons, with the only season he didn't manage it the first season with us under McCann where he barely featured. It's a silly comparison to make and almost as silly as trying to draw on stats for Traore in a league he hasn't played seriously in in over 3 years (Ligue 1).

I'm not telling you he's the messiah, or even that I wouldn't have preferred Honeyman stayed. I think we made too many changes too quickly in the summer, but I'd rather have Tufan, Pelkas, and potentially Traore as the creative element of my midfield for the duration of their contracts, and if Honeyman choosing Milwall was a consequence of it then its probay justified.

The question you asked was why people expected much (or by your tone, even anything) of Traore.

He's got an assist or goal every 5 in stronger leagues than ours over numerous seasons at a number of clubs. Quite simply, that's why.
If he continues that here he'll do well enough.

He's a more established player than you appear to give him credit for. He's not a punt on an youngster or an 'unknown' He hasn't come to play for the stiffs. He's here to compete for a place at the very least, and shouldn't be dismissed.

Oh yeah, and I agree it's silly to compare Honeymans stats with Traore cos Honeyman will never play in League 1. Or any other of the serious top flights in world football.

His biggest move is most likely the one he's just made.

If he made much of an impact maybe he'd start?

Definitely feels like one of those lose-lose-lose transfers. We've lost an influential leader and contributor, he's not starting, and Milwall have wasted a transfer. I think (as I said at the time) there would have been plenty of opportunity for him to play in the first 24 games of the season, and sadly it does seem to have come down to the club being a bit too ambitious a bit too quickly and casting him aside a bit too hastily.

Or him having aspirations to play more than he was likely to over a 3 year period, as contracts tend to go...

Sometimes it really is just business.

We're speculating whether Honeyman feels he regrets moving, what do we think about KLP?

Not getting much of a look in, reckon he thinks he should have stayed an extra year?

It's like the old "Well he scores cracking goals in training" about the striker on a 12 game scoring drought in the league. When the pressure's off players can look like Messi, but the pressure is what matters.

Our warm up shots go in - in the game well that’s another story - we need to shoot to have a chance , preferably on target !

Yes, but depends if they have a similar type playing better, it's all about square pegs in square holes, as it has worked out he would probably be playing from the start with us, as his energy is something we have lacked. Or maybe money-wise it was a better deal for him, but if so, living in London is a dam more expensive than living in Hull or Sunderland, so is he any better off?

I’m just surprised people actually watch the warm ups! Why? A few beers, get to the ground 2:45/50ish quick piss & into my seat for 2:59. Sorted
What am I missing? Old Nige used to talk about winning the warm ups, what a load of old bollocks

Millwall's new training ground is outside the M25 so he could easily live a long way from London

Yeah, I watched it too and was surprised by how little faffing around at the back they did. Maybe it was because they knew Leeds would try to press them into making errors if they did so they mixed it up well. A good example of mixing it up, with the keeper going short, long, and even, shock horror, throwing it out a few times too. Clearly no obsession with knocking it around between keeper and CB's (to FB's, back to ......). Yes, they should have had more like 7, and I was willing them on as hard as I could :emoticon-0100-smile

when I watch City we always have a laugh predicting how we will have a ball on the half way line and contrive to pass all the way back to our goalkeeper via defenders

If we had Haaland some would say he should be in the under 23s or even better loaned out to some lower league club to gain experience.
