The regret is that it was yet another poor decision after many, many poor decisions that have led to us being bottom of the league. What would your starting Xi look like for Sat?
We all know what our fans can do, given something to shout about, they can be the best in the League. At the moment it is just passive acceptance, most team's supporters would have been creating mayhem at the lack of success. There are just a few trying to rattle the cage and are getting no response.
Oh come on, you can't say selling Reed has led to us being in this position! Anyway I would go with: Bazunu KWP DCC ABK Perraud Lavia (AMN if not fit) JWP Stu Aribo Adams Edozie I think Salisu could do with a little spell out of the team TBH.
What's with the sitting on the fence? Probable loss? It's a nailed on certainty! nb: If we win, I shall highlight the success of my reverse psychology
Id go very similar but throw McCarthy of Willy in instead of Baz. At least they’ve kept a clean sheet before
I'm not confident and I expect a Fulham win. But I'm not treating it as a total write-off by any means. If Fulham are slightly off their game, and we put in a performance, we could get something. I'm just not expecting it.
It's quiet because so much as raise your voice and some yellow jacketed private security goon is all over you. Persistent shouting, cheering or singing will get your block closed down.
For some positivity, according to this stat which weights results based on how difficult the opposition is, we aren’t doing horrendously
Just trying to draw the positives. Problem is… we seem to have hit our worst form just as we come into the winnable patch of games
You can't call one loss form. Given there was a 6 week break in fixtures every Pl team has no run of form at the moment.
Yeah whatever happened to the spirit of Southampton days of all those relegation battles in the 90s at The Dell? The football served up then wasn't that great either apart from the magic of Le Tiss. It absolutely serves no purpose not supporting the team during a game and just makes the crowd look like entitled fans. You can still have opinions about it after the game. We are equal seventh with West Ham as the currently the longest serving clubs in the PL which is pretty good considering the money we spend and size of the club.
Our support has been generally poor since we returned to the PL imo. We created some great atmospheres in the lower leagues even with the corner stands empty.
Probably because we were winning more games, I think that the Liebherr/Cortese era created the entitled Saints fan and we were definitely spoiled for a few seasons.
I think for most clubs atmosphere usually correlates with form and we have been **** at home for a really long time. For example you say about the lower leagues, but our atmosphere was utter garbage for most of the 4 Championship seasons pre Liebherr. Then the first L1 season was an adventure with visits to and from clubs we mostly hadn’t played in decades including a minor trophy win, then we were the dogs nads for the next two years, followed by four cracking PL seasons and European football. Funnily enough our atmosphere was pretty good for most of that. As you would expect Brighton fans were picking us off for bad atmosphere at the weekend, but if they played like us I doubt they would even bother catching the train to Falmer. Of course if it was the other way around we would be giving them grief as well.
i can’t believe this narrative forming that saints fans are entitled. We have put up with so much. Players sold. Managers leaving. Defeat after defeat. Penny pinching for years. Stewards treating fans like mugs. The club treating fans as an afterthought. What do you expect when on top of all these things we never win at home? I think our fans are pretty incredible considering.
