As I said earlier in the thread. I don’t think Lyanco is disciplined enough to be CB, but he could possibly do a job in defensive midfield, alongside JWP. He has good skills on the ball and will definitely put himself about. The guy is mental but his enthusiasm and energy is second to none. I am trying to imagine the fall out of him and Mitrovic going at each other.
Would say last window was still decent in terms of the signings ability wise. Lavia, ABK and Edozie look like top talents. Larios and Bazunu look ok, with definite talent there. DCC looks competent if nothing special, same with AMN. Mara the jury is out on as has hardly featured. Lis who knows and Aribo is ****. So 1 bad signing for me from last year. The issue is we didn’t get a goal scorer and we should’ve got an additional Romeu replacement aswell as Lavia. And these are knock ons from how bad the squad was that SR inherited with poor investment during the Gao years
FFS I thought it was Ralph that was the problem, mate? Or is it the squad? Or is it the ownership? ...or maybe you'd be better off at the Etihad or St James' park
Everything is ****, basically. Until we win a couple of games, which has to happen eventually… …doesn’t it?
Is support for Liverpool, Manchester United and Chelsea waning, and up and down the country there are youngsters now proudly wearing Manchester City and Newcastle tops. Makes a nice change I suppose!
Ralph was a problem The squad is a problem All of which is on the ownership which makes them a problem. A really ****ing big problem
I just don’t see how you can look at the players we signed last window and complain that much. The issue is the 2 players we didn’t sign Rome wasn’t built in a day or whatever the phrase is. We signed 10 players, at worst 6 of them look ok or better, probably more like 7/8 fall into that category.
So why have we actually got worse? Was it a good window? On paper maybe. In practice after 16 games it looks like a terrible window.
I just think we cannot be sure they made the wrong decision without seeing how NJ develops over x amount of games. Is no point making his job ten times harder by booing and getting on his and the players' backs. Particularly if it is people who wanted Ralph gone. You can't keep griping time and again until a manager meets our approval. If this doesn't work out in a number of games, however, I wouldn't be surprised to see NJ gone and mistakes admitted. It would be crazy, unprecedented, and beyond reproach for them to do it now. It's just crazy to add pressure on the team, because it's not going to get them anywhere. I usually have a more certain view on managers etc., but can't say I know what we are into with this one. Agree it is reckless given the circumstances, and almost seems like sabotage, but I'm going to observe for a bit.
I’m not too sure we have got worse. We are at least the same as the second half of last season I would say we are improved from then, other teams have strengthened as well, and the majority had a better starting base than we did. If Lavia hadn’t got injured I think we wouldve done better, that DM role is crucial and we only have him. Whilst we spent a lot for us, it’s still **** all compared to most teams. Wolves just signed one player for basically our total net spend I think
We are bottom of the table. Looking a certainty for relegation. We have been a premier league club for a long time, yet we have pissed all that money up the wall. We’ve won 3 games all season, and like 7 all calendar year? It’s not ****ing acceptable from anyone involved. Ralph, the board, whoever. It’s absolutely piss poor. No one person is to blame. It’s a cluster **** of bad decisions from multiple people. And as fans who love the club we are entitled to point out the ****ing obvious without being told we may as well support city/Liverpool. I was there in league one. I will be there again if it comes to it. But I will also be honest in my assessment when we are being run into the ground. Lincoln is spot on. I will back NJ, he deserves time now he is here, I personally will never boo in the ground. But the club deserves all the abuse it gets right now.
I'm not having a pop at Lincoln for criticising, I was laughing with him not at him, but come on, He wanted owners to spend money, they did, he wanted owners to sack Ralph they did and now they're **** because the manager hasn't been at Real Madrid and things didn't get better after one league game. Its not Lincoln, its this silly idea that we deserve ANYTHING from the game. We are fans and we all want to see winning performances but acting like entitled brats and demanding fans take action and heads roll (projecting and paraphrasing sorry) just sounds ridiculous. We are not going to make the top 10 this year, likely not next, we are very likely to get relegated, we are very likely to continue to sign unknown players and managers and if you can't look for the positives in that then you are going to be bloody miserable for the forseeable future. Great respect to you for going to the games and I would likely be a lot less accepting if I paid a season ticket but I did buy an away shirt for Xmas and it's bloody lovely. See, positives, not even you and Lincs could complain about the away shirt, right?
Hahaha the away shirt is class to be fair. I still think sacking Ralph was the right time personally. I just am yet to be convinced we have picked the right man. Fingers crossed he is just settling in and the first two have been a blip. I don’t think we are being entitled to aim to be better than the newly promoted sides. And I do think we deserve a lot better than this year in general. From new rules to the away fans etc. Lincoln is right we are now an emotionless soulless club
I don't disagree, but neither can I wholeheartedly agree. We have had owners who don't care a jot to the point of having zero involvement, and these guys at SR who have strong methods and like to be engaged. I would have thought the latter was preferable, but it seems like their timing is certainly a bit off.
Just a shame that status doesn't come with shedloads of Middle Eastern cash like it does with everyone else. Typical Saints!
time for the chicken **** analogy. This squad sucks so we replace the manager and you still cannot make chicken soup from chicken ****
