Not bothered how we score , penalty , belter , header , even one off someone’s arse counts as a goal . Quite relaxed that we aren’t scoring from dead ball situations they aren’t the be all and end all - main thing is carry on scoring and even more importantly that we score more than our opponents!!!
Great thread as always @RTB. Quick turnaround for this one but I'm confident the lads will have enough about them to manage. Wigan won't be looking forward to facing out front 4/5. I will take a 1-nil victory but would prefer us to put them to the sword early on and demolish them. 3-0 Toni's, Clarke, Roberts and Stewart
Correct...our open play scoring is great, if we could get the odd set piece goal we would be in the play-off positions now. Bring back Seb Larsson I say!
0-7. This is the one. Fkn doddle. We have defenders out so just attack. 0-3 1st 20 mins game over. Exhibition football and Wigan manager sacked. Sorted. Cheers RTB. PS, GP & GA, if this goes in I expect a minimum of 100 points on the predictor league .
That's very true but Wigan's is quicker and our first team squad is better. As we've seen before they have a decent first team and little else ... ... plus they're going into the game on the back of two defeats. I think the ex-Sunderland players will try too hard and distract themselves from their game plan. I've no idea about their playing style but I'm expecting L1 diagonals, crosses into the box, shouting at the ref and time wasting if they're ahead after ten minutes. I'm going for a big win in the belief that, once we score, we'll pick them off like fish in a barrel ... ... 4-0 to the Lads and that horrible feeling of optimism that creeps into the minds of Sunderland supporters
You want 100 points if we win 7-0, Gil, yet you've got us to win 4-3 in the prediction thread Daft twat
Just realised we are at mam and dad's house Thursday night for a family get together. Hope her firestick is working
You have summed up their playing style mate. They are going to try and hit us with long balls. If Gooch is out they will target the right side and Mclean. I look forward to him beating a man once in a while then ONien winding him up. They have a couple of players I really like. Will Keane is way too good for that style of play. Broadhead is just too good for them full stop. They would be the two I would be wary of as they have quality, whether they try to use it I doubt.
It's a tricky one - The likes of Neil, Evans and co are doing the business, but not early enough or emphatically enough to allow him to give the younger players a decent amount of playing time. I assume we will see a mch changed team for the Shrewsbury game
I think he would like to play both of them up top from the start but, based upon his comments, not sure he will do it this game.
Toure is changing their style of play. He seems to be getting them to play out from the back now but they lack the players to do that. We should start simms n stewart in this game and press high as theyll give us chances by trying to play out
