diallo is a great find for a loan, he has grown in confidence every game and works very well with others.

wonder if evans ever gets injured and we have a full set of defenders if onien would be able to take his place?

Onien is great at the back as it suits all his qualities. He is better seeing the game in front of him rather than receiving with his back to play. I actually think hes earned the right to be our 1st choice CB at the minute while hes playing the way he is.

I think a CM is our biggest need in January, a replacement (and someone who can play alongside) Evans is a must. We have 2 good players for most positions except his replacemnet imo

I had the perfect angle (SEC) to watch it trickle. not the first time we've done them up here right at the death.

Against the grain a bit here. I think he is a very good 9 at this level. He ran his bollocks off today as well. Cards on the table I would have him here. I bet if he was in a different side, like ours who want to play, he would get the goals. Onien and Ballard today just bossed him and Gooch had Diaz on toast so their whole front 3 flopped a bit.

Loved how our 2 cbs bullied their strikers, they were just pushing them about and doing what they wished - loved it

Aye it was a pretty small club for a while wasn't it but it's good to see him getting the recognition now, he's such a smashing lad.

I'd definitely be interested to see how we'd do with him as a deep lying midfielder with Neil and Ba/Michut/Matete/Embo ahead of him. Could be an option for games we expect to get bullied in. Wouldn't be much getting through.

It surprised me how easy is was for our lads and how poor they were. Diaz is a very good player. But I'll take that all day long. <cheers>

Diaz is a great finisher and his movement in the box is class but our defenders were so good as blocking the space and blocking him - hence why we started to throw himself to the ground

Had a few so bare with me. A lot will know I am Dan Neils cheerleader. Today I thought it was border line a perfect centre mid performance. I had thought he was playing a bit within himself recently, but today he was bursting forward and making things happen in their half. Twice in the first half he arrived late at the edge of the box, demanding the ball but it never came. At times defensively he was really vocal. I remember TM saying recently he needed to bring his personality to the game. Looks like he is starting to do that a bit. Even in the refs ear first.

Second half they couldnt live with him. His passing and (at last) the way he carried the ball gave us real momentum. Had a message from a scout today saying he is ticking boxes galore.

His stats defensively this year are great. Makes most tackles in our team and interceptions are right up there. Passing stats stay high. If today is anything to go by he has a big chance in the game. I still think a 433 will unlock him but he has learned so quickly to play a 2. Hope he keeps on this trajectory. For me, if we go up in the next year or so, we will see the real Dan Neil at this top level.

Ramble over. Bottle of Glenfiddich in 2 days. Happy Christmas to all of us.

Agree, that's what onien is good at, he gets tight and niggles away and denies space. On a side note; thats probably the first time that back 5 has played a game together. Coupled with Hume coming on for Cirkin at LB then switching to a back 3 to finish the game off shows some great flexibility and character from the lads.

We have a team that justifies the fans again. That late goal is all those fans deserve. Honestly think we have a gaffer and structure now we can only keep going forward. Love these players. We are so close to a special period...

Think ive mentioned to you before but im a big fan of Hume, reckon he will be class for us. Should get a run of games now.

Loved how TM changed formation to go and win the game for us, not like him changing formation in the game so shows he is trusting our players

Looks a good player to me, wasn't his day today but he kept at it and was a constant threat. That tracking back he did when he injured himself was impressive he's quick for his size.

Agreed, he looks so much stronger now - he presses non stop and is improving all the time. I want to see him drive forward more with the ball like he did in the 2nd half as his balance is class.

He does need to improve his awareness of movement behind him when defending as there were times today where he gets drawn to the ball too quickly rather than holding his position but thatll come with more game time. The boy is class and 1 of my fave players

Yes you have mate. I like him as well and think he will do well and won't let anyone down. I was a bit surprised how him and Huggins disappeared after the Birmingham game tbh, I thought they were good value to stay in the squad at least.

He is a good player like, dont think playing wide left suited him today but agree with what you said about his workrate today.

He will be off to a team in europe imo and will do well

They'll both be needed in the nxt couple of games, great that we have so many players that never let any of us down

I agree about Neil it was a great all round performance he got forward well throughout and defended like a champ. Got double the tackles in of anyone on our team and not for the first time that's a regular occurrence.

Ballard was man of the match statistically which is fair enough because he played brilliantly and got an assist but you could make a case for three or four players.
