Poor that tbh. 2 points out of 6 against teams that went down to 10 men. 1 shot on target and another ****ty goal to concede after shooting ourselves in the foot with clumsy and panicky passing out from the back. I like Rosenior and understand he’s trying to impose his playing philosophy but I was unsure of his appointment when it was rumour and nothing has changed my mind since. It’s all well and good saying ‘judge him when he’s got a fully-fit squad’ but few managers have that luxury anyway. I’ll judge him on his ability (or lack of) to win games.
Rosie has just come out and said the same thing, so it's clearly not what they are being told to do in every situation. And we have had more control in all the games since Rosenior came in. The very fact we're talking about dropped points and not being 2 or 3 down at half time attests to that. Just got to stop the glaring mistakes and gifts, and start hitting the target a bit more as our play deserves.
Rosenior: "Pass the ball around in your own penalty area. I've seen Manchester City do it." City pass the ball around in their own penalty area and concede. Rosenior: "You shouldnt have passed the ball around in your own penalty area then!"
as insightful as you, you're tying to act contrarian and the only substance you've got to back up your messiah is possession
I actually don’t mind it, we aren’t Man City but then we aren’t playing Man City. It’s all about doing it at the right times and the people in front of them (midfield) been mobile enough to take the ball off the back 4. They are pro footballers, they should be able to play it, it’s the speed of thought that will find them out. However I think we are trying it with mostly l1 defenders
He clearly is being told that if they are marking us up high then there's space up the pitch so use it - as was stated post match. It's a bad decision from the keeper.
You dont need to be Man City or play Man City You just need to move the ball up the pitch quickly and not mess around in your own penalty area until a player panics or loses the ball to attackers who lap up the gifts
so why did we have three players in our own goal area and pass between them can't the defenders see what the attackers are doing? or is it all Ingram's fault? Ingram and Baxter have both been criticised since Rosenior became manager
I didnt notice maybe aimless hoofs upfield are what you are thinking about but it you pass forward and players give you options you have a better chance of doing well
Well that was a cold & frustrating afternoon….we are struggling to score goals, we are gifting goals to the opposition, unless things change quickly we are in a relegation scrap Edit- just wanted to say Seri looks fantastic in that midfield playing some great long passes
I'd say today was Ingram's fault and he was poor for sunderlands also. Any system takes time to implement, months in some cases especially to get good at it as it relies on understanding between players. Of course we need to be better in some areas but whatever system we use we can't just flip flop - there are pros and cons to any system - going long playing hoof ball has its issues also. At least were competing in games now. We weren't under the old regime
Exactly what I said, better players make that desicion quicker, we don’t have them players so they don’t see the picture quick enough. Ingram can’t stay in goal, he isn’t quick enough with his feet
