Ibe is in his final year of secondary school in south London and it is understood that the teenager is keen to remain at Wycombe this season because of the prospect of first-team football. Is this good or bad? Good that he might be staying, bad that we will get nothing for him next season.
the move that would work best for everyone would be him signing for someone else, then being sent out on a 2 year loan deal to wycombe for first team football
Nice as it would be, it'll never happen. The rationale the Premier clubs are using, to steal players on the cheap, is that the talent needs to be concentrated in the best centres (i.e theirs) for the good of the future of the game. Everyone would start questioning this, and presumably undo the policy, if the moment it was introduced they started sending players back out on loan. I think we need lots of interest from lots of clubs and a bidding war sometime this season.
If he does want to stay with us then, provided we can keep him beyond his 17th birthday does that avoid the problem of "giving him away"? Problem is the bastards would probably make it too tempting to leave before then and get him for next to nothing next year. Just think what they could offer him if they saved a £1m on the purchase. So many angles on this. Ibe himself Ibe's parents WWFC Liverpool/Man U/Fulham
He won't be here much longer. Man Ut, Man C, Arsenal, Liverpool, Chelsea, all interested. 5 of the top 7 clubs in the Premier League at present. Note not Wigan, Bolton or Blackburn Manchester City Offer
man city are continuing the ruination of football where chelski left off,if these so called superstars wages were capped at a decent level then the working man would be able to afford to go football home and away, sadly the premiership clubs get richer and the lower leagues clubs face more hard times ahead even going out of buisseness,i dont blame ibe wherever he ends up it will set him up financially for many years to come its just a shame wycombe fans and staff wont get any benefit from it.there is nothing better than seeing youngsters coming through the youth team to make their first team debuts and continue playing for the club that nurtured them sadly ibe and maybe even harris aint gonna be at wycombe much longer and the fa and their stupid change of rules onlyhits wycombe even more.
Sad as it is, I'm sure Ibe's parents will try to ensure that Ibe looks after No 1. I think, as parents, we would do the same in this day and age of insecurity.
totally agree ron but the fact that man city are offering a 15 year old that amount of money and he will probably never play for their first team shows how wrong the way football is being run
