We really lack pace at the moment. It's what will eventually make 'playing out' a viable tactic going forward.

Allahyar has been a long time out. Let's not load soo much pressure too quickly. He'll contribute as long as he stays fit.

Indeed, he and Christie on the right will be some pairing IMO!

I'm optimistic we're 1 or 2 tweaks and a bit of stability away from being a real proposition.

Let's see where we are by the end of Jan.

If we could get to relative safety with some returnees and incomings hitting form in feb then we could do OK.

Tetteh and Allahyar back will completely transform our attacking threat, hopefully it will get Oscar back into the games as he’s looked lost since they’ve been injured. Will take a while for them to get up to speed though

Tetteh has been the biggest loss. I know he’s not been putting the ball in the net but his contribution to general play and bringing others in was outstanding. Was probably the stand out player at the start of the season.

Need to ease Tetteh and Allahyar back in. We desperately need them back but not at the risk of them ****ing their hamstrings again so soon after recovering from operations. I would hate for Allahyar in particular to be one of those ‘what could’ve been’ players whose career is blighted by recurring injuries so early in his career.

Is it a tough one? He's a pacy wide player, we massively lack wingers and have been playing Smith, Slater or Docherty there.

Can't see him starting this one but surely he's part of the answer to our lack of wide threat.

Looked better through the middle last year to me, but still a fully fit Allahyar on the right is a massive improvement

Order FA cup tickets on Sunday arrived on Wednesday..seems that current post is taking precedent over back log..or perhaps letters over parcels….is Santa still working or has he threatened to strike?

Our form over the last 10 games is lower mid table and we are becoming more difficult to beat. The core of the team during this period has been the same - although it has attracted it's fair share of criticism.

I'm sure any fundamentally cautious manager - who isn't compelled by injuries or the chasing of points to be otherwise - will continue in the same vein, whilst reintroducing the returning absentees with care.

We've got 6 league games before the end of January and after those it will be much clearer where our season is going.

Agree wholeheartedly, but to make full use of him we are going to have to change the pace at which we transition. The tempo we currently pass around etc doesn't suit his style of play, hopefully the players ( bar seri ) can spot this and make the pass etc.

But him back is nothing short of a massive step forward

We lack dynamism all over the pitch. It’s no surprise our most lacklustre attacking performance of recent times coincided with Coyle playing right back instead of Christie given he’s our only dynamic player fully fit and sharp

When he's fit to start (probably not against Blackpool) it'll be an interesting decision for Rosenior to fit him into the current preferred formation. While he's good enough to play anywhere across the front line, I wonder if he just might replace Longman, at least until Tetteh is fit. This isn't because Longman should be dropped, but rather because we play an asymmetrical formation at the moment with Christie much further advanced than Greaves and effectively playing as a right winger a lot of the time when we're in possession. The wide right player tends to tuck in to allow Christie the space to advance, which means that Allahyar might be a little bit wasted on that side and instead be better on the left where Longman plays more as a conventional winger. Doesn't mean that Allahyar wouldn't be useful on the right if we want to go for it with a really attacking formation, just that we might get more out of his pace and trickery on the left. Could conceivably have Longman wide right instead.

Sinik is pish. A one trick pony when playing on the left. Continually cuts back inside onto his right foot.

Could try him on the right maybe ? Be revolutionary with a right footer or carry on doing what Pep and Southgate did for Sterling for years , leave him on the left . It’s a conundrum to say the least Mr Fizziwinkle ( been watching Scrooge!)
