Yup winter solstice, shortest day. So the true end of the year/cycle and the Earth's axis tilts back towards the sun for the Northern hemisphere. Celebrated for thousands of years as a marking of the end of one cycle of darkness and welcoming in the light. Obvs folk back in the day lived more in tune with the natural seasons (for planting, harvesting purposes) and weren't ruled by an artificial clock and all the trappings of modernity, so these events had more prominence. Been for a health check today. The nurse took my BP. She took it 5 times and kept tapping the machine to make sure its working. Is 160 over 100 that bad? Can anyone do better?
tablets , pills the average GP response to everything these days . I did ask wouldn't it worth finding out what caused the change as in the previous year my BP had been fine during 3 ptr ops and normal check ups but Doc just looked at me like i was a lunatic and said "the pills will fix it ".
