If you're still logged into Twitter, the block should carry over

Although given how blocking doesn't seem to work for members of QElon's target audience these days...

Based on the rumours going around, it seems that Paratici has three briefs for January

    1.) Workrate Beast CM
    Weston McKennie, Sofyan Amrabat

2.) Pacey forward who can play as a CF or winger
    Randal Kolo Muani, Donyell Malen

3.) Placebo for those with Emerson Derangement Syndrome
    Pedro Porro, Andreas Skov Olsen

Be nice if a creative midfield was ever on the docket...

Apparently we've made an offer for Rangers’ Jack Wylie, 15 years old, plays in midfield and right back.

I hate being right about these kind of things. Amrabat had an outstanding world cup and now he's on the radar of all of the 'big' clubs.

So, it's not Leicester knocking on Amrabat's door, it's Liverpool.

At what point, on the journey towards Liverpool signing this player and Amrabat ripping us a new one in the league, do folks who where being negative about this player when we had a clear and free run up to signing him, admit they were poor judges?

There's a chunk of Spurs fans who **** on players before we've signed them, with Amrabat being the most obvious example

It's one thing to think we'd be paying over the odds for somebody, for example the £40m we were quoted for Adama Traore a couple of summers ago, but to write players off out of hand is ludicrous

If we signed Amrabat we probably wouldn’t have signed Bentancur.

    I think we done ok…

Amrabat was definitely the guy Paratici had in a holding pattern so we would have a guaranteed CM signing in January, and it has to be said his passing patterns do mirror Bentancur's

Similarly, for this coming January it seemed he was the high workrate CM which is clearly on the shopping list in case McKennie doesn't materialise

There’s similarities but we definitely got the better player despite Amrabat’s fantastic World Cup.

I hope neither materialise, we’ve already got four hard working CMs in which I’d say three are either better or at least on a par with both Amrabat and especially McKennie, more pressing needs at CCB and RWB.

The main thing which strikes me every time we're linked with McKennie is how he's essentially a younger Hojbjerg, so he isn't necessary - unless Conte expects Hojbjerg's legs to pack up any minute due to two years of constant playing

Sissoko also had a great World Cup in 2018. It took3 years for him ro get close to replicate that form for us .can we wait that long?

The issue with Sissoko was a myriad of factors

1.) Poch admitted it took players at least a full season to get up to the fitness and tactical requirements of his system
2.) For most of his first season, Sissoko was either benched as Dembele was first-choice or played out of position (I remember a bunch of games he played as a RW), so he wasn't getting acclimatised to the role in the team he was signed for
3.) Our game stopped being the possession-focused game it was between 2015-18, which ironically worked in his favour as his workrate started to become an asset when we started using Air Raid tactics

The list of players who have impressed in international tournaments who then made big money moves only to flop badly is both extensive and a cautionary tale.

I set very little store in using these tournaments to gauge the actual quality of a player. The nature of a knock-out tournament is totally different to a 38-game domestic slog, while the vast majority of national teams would be mid to bottom half (if not relegated) of the PL if transported there.

Emi Martinez is a good example of this

There's people out there talking about him as a longterm replacement for Hugo, when realistically he may be a good keeper but he's not the sort of keeper who can turn a 1-1 draw into a 1-0 win that we need to be looking for

Yep. Pretty average shot stopper but superb at penalty shoot-outs, which in a domestic season is about as useful as a chocolate teapot.

I think that Amrabat would be a very good signing for Liverpool, even if overpriced.
Their midfield needs an overhaul and he'd be a good start.
Too many tired legs and crocks in there at the moment and it's hurting them everywhere.
Melo may have helped, but he appears to have disappeared since joining.
