Good Morning. It's Tuesday 20th December, and here are the latest headlines from Elland Road Leeds weighing up bid for World Cup star Leeds United are understood to be weighing up a bid to bring Morrocan World Cup star Azzedine Ounahi to Elland Road in January. The 22yo box to box midfielder applies his trade with Ligue 1 strugglers Angers, who currently sit bottom of the French top flight. During a recent interview, Angers Chairman Said Chabane said he was open to the idea of selling his star midfielder, which is not surprising when media reports are suggesting he could fetch £40m; a vast difference to his £3m valuation on 'Transfermarkt". Building a squad for the future is important, but surely the aim of the game is to bring players over on the cheap, and nurture them, not buy them at hugely inflated prices. please log in to view this image Cunha would break Leeds salary structure Leeds will have to break their wage structure if they want to bring Matheus Cunha to Elland Road next month. The misfiring forward is set to depart the Metropolitano Stadium next month after only 16 months. He joined from Hertha Berlin for a fee of £23m in the Summer of 2021. In 56 appearances, the Brazilian has netted just nine times (one goal every seven games), yet Atlético are demanding £26m, should they sell him next month. Cunha is not short of admirers. Arsenal, Aston Villa and Wolves have also been linked with the 23yo, whose wage demands are believed to be in the region of £84,000 a week, over £350,000 a month. Perhaps Leeds should bubble wrap Bamford, and put him in the shop window? please log in to view this image Leeds continue to chase Gakpo According to the Mirror, Leeds remain locked in talks with Cody Gakpo's representatives regarding an unlikely move to Elland Road this month. The 23yo came close to joining Leeds after Victor Orta staged an audacious, last minute bid to capture the Dutch Superstar. Unfortunately, the deal collapsed. 18 goals, 15 assists and a successful World Cup later, Leeds still believe they are still in the running to sign him. Perhaps if they hadn't sat on their laurels after the 20/21 season, they'd have a chance. Let's hope they don't leave it too late to sign an alternative. please log in to view this image
Morning all I don’t believe we’re still chasing Gakpo, if we are someone wants sacking for time wasting. I’m with Emu, none of the big names mentioned will be joining. Something was very strange with the need to loan out James. The club insists we nearly got Gakpo yet everything points to no funds in the pot. NewsNow click bait sites are all building momentum as the agents try to drum up fake interest in order for bigger fees or better renewed contracts
Good Morning from a chilly sunny Bardsey I believe that all this hype is just that .We have no money to buy playersand this means loans Forget Gaypo he has already statedthat he doesn.t want to come to LeedsCDK STATED HE DIDN.T WANT TO COME HERE SO MOVE ON STOP MAKING THESE PLAYERS AN EXCUSE FOR NOT SIGNING ANYONE
On the Cunha front nothing rings true. Yes he’s a player we tried to get but allowed Athletico to get him. Are we really still looking at him? Then we have the story that is continually wheeled out that Rodrigo is on £100k per week and then from the same source we read Cunha would break the Leeds salary structure as he wants £84k per week…… also sick of reading that player X who is leaving Leeds is on £54k per week, funny how Dan James and Klich are on the same and also Adams on £54k per week, it seems the 54 grand number gets attributed to almost everyone. So it’s all bollox until we see some facts
If we’re really still going for Gakpo, we’ll soon be looking like a bunch of tyre kickers or those people who turn up on a Sunday to view your house cos they’ve got nothing better to do
