Same as nearly all modern wingers then.

Up to the manager to play him in a position he can drive to the byline and cross with his preferred foot. I'm sure he could do that whether he prefers to cut in from the left or not.

Wouldn't be surprised if we listened to offers given that Longman, Slater and Doc have been preferred wide. Agree that fans haven't seen enough yet to make a solid judgement.

Why has it become received wisdom that Woods is no good? He has been picked regularly by the last three managers. He looks after the ball and can play effectively under pressure. He tries to get the ball forward when he can. He created the goal on Saturday. He is far from our worst issue in the squad.

He is also very vocal. A role the captain should be doing.

Apparently we retained the Raich Carter Trophy by not losing on Saturday as well

He doesn’t pass forwards enough or win the ball back. He is vocal though as UP said, but our midfield goes up a level with a mobile, ball winner next to Seri rather than him. He and Seri effectively do the same thing, Seri is just miles better at it and also contributes miles more to the defensive effort

I think what annoys me more about him is that he’s clearly capable but he’s either told not to or chooses not to. Just envision a ball winner alongside Seri and I think it’d take our side to another level

Woods is a more budget Seri. Would have thought they were signed originally for the same role - Woods as cover for Seri in the same system. Absolutely agree we could do with a ball winner/****house to play alongside. There were links to that kind of player in the summer but nothing seemed to come of them.

I don't see how he did much wrong. Played well enough I thought. Just possibly too similar in style of play to Seri.

I like an old fashioned winger myself but there can't be many operating that way. Anyone playing these days will have been brought up through systems with one central striker and wide players cutting in on their strong foot. It's the full back that usually push forward and put crosses in.

Rosie might just have to coach modern wingers to play the opposite side to what they were brought up to. Might as well start with Sinik.

... Or bring in the lad from Palace, as seems likely. Ali one side and him the other would be far more direct on the flanks, which is what I think he's looking to do.

If that works then great. What's the back up though? Slater and Doc?

Well, it's probably Sinik' Tetteh, Longman or Pelkas - or even Slater as he has the shirt at the moment.

Not sure Sinik will attract a decent enough offer to be worth selling this window, as he's not played much.

According to transfermarkt we paid 4m euros. You'd think we'd want the vast bulk of that back?

Just had a look at this palace player and he's massively left footed but plays on the right. I think Rosie is having us on with this old fashioned winger talk

At times I've been quite unimpressed, largely at the amount of times he passes it into touch. But I thought Saturday was one of his best games for us and people seem to have ramped up the criticism of him since then, which is odd.

Guess time will tell. We need some pace on the flanks though.

Had a stinker at qpr, but to be fair, he must have wondered wtf he'd walked into post WBA.
