Yes, at home it might work. Away we need to revert back to 1 up front and make changes if needed as in previous games
Agreed. As for next week think Walcott instead of Agbonlahor, Van Persie instea of Bent and the scale of the challenge becomes blindingly obvious!!! Still, have a go at Arsenal and what is the worst that can happen!!! We get absolutely tanked - so what, if we sit back and just defend getting tanked is all that will happen!
With the current form of Arsenal I am expecting nothing from the game so yes, we should just have a go at them. It might be enough to nick a point if we get a break.
I think that sums up exactly why we missed Foxy today. If Wes had a blinder we might not have noticed quite so much but sadly today wasn't the best for the little guy.
If we beat Arsenal at home it will be on the same scale as beating Man U last time round, very doubtful that we will get anything but these are the games you dream of when in LG1........ I am glad that nobody on here is over critical of todays performance, Villas 2nd goal was an absolute mess but we can t play well every game ..... Pilks goal was an absolute peach....
We perhaps should have got something against Arsenal last time! A blindingly obvious foul (last man) was punished with just a yellow card (cannot remember who it was) but they set up the Arsenal winning goal! Terrible decision by the ref that day.
VP is one of the best players to play in England ever, just to have them at CR is a treat........................ Beats Scunthorpe United
Just seen the highlihts on MOTD. Just wondering whether Ruddy could have done a bit more for the 2nd goal. yes, I know it was a woeful backpass, but Ruddy almost got to it. Am wondering why he went to tackle, and not down at the player's feet. To me, he seemed to lack confidence in this particular situation. Yes, I know he got sent off at Chelsea, but if that he is thinking that everytime he is in that situation, then he can't be in the right frame of mind can he? I'm not knocking Ruddy in any way at all, it's just after seeing this a couple of times, it has me wondering.
With you maestro , ruddy didn't put much into that challenge, looked like he almost pulled out of it. Lack of confidence for sure in that department
When i watched it as it happened I thought instantly that Ruddy had jibbed out. Shame as it compounded Leon's mistake. Woeful defending all round really and ultimately handed the initiative and points to Villa.
That bit in bold text Maestro, I think hits the nail on the head. I think he was scared to death of getting sent off again! Hopefully it is something he will overcome but perhaps he wont, only time is going to tell on this one.
If that is the case Thai, and it is playing on his mind, then he could become a liability. I really hope this isn't the case, as it would be a great shame if he turned into a liability after doing so well for us.
If that is the case then I entirely agree and again if it is, PL will be well aware of that and is not going to be slow in helping him overcome any such fear
