I've never thought anything about nurses, I've already made it clear that I support the nurses. That still does not steer away from the fact that one strike led to a lot of strikes. So putting nurses to one side, what is the railways argument, even on here it was mentioned to me about 'ticket offices' sorry bro but I didn't make that up, I've also seen it stated on other political threads on not606 as 'ticket offices & guards' - well I see it that everything else has turned to automation and people have happily welcomed the changes why not the railways, live lines or something I think @BobbyD said. Then the guards, since when has there every been a helpful guard, they are always miserable old fookers, due to retire, or youngsters standing around with their hands in the pockets doing nothing. What private business would employ people to be like that. So nah mate, good try though.
I know when I travelled in Spain there were armed guards on the trains, now if we were arguing for protection of the public on trains, I'd say fair enough, but I've not read of anyone on here using that argument. If the argument was we want to cut suicides on the railway, I'd say again fair enough, but again I've not heard anyone use that argument. If I heard guards want to help customers at ticket machines and be welcoming and friendly, again I'd say fair enough, but it seems what is important to me is not important, as not once have I seen any of that mentioned.
Don't get the problem tbh Union members and those who support strikes = great and deserve payrises/pension rises /benefit rises that are at least in line with inflation. Everyone else else should stfu and **** off Power to the workers
Can you tell me what a train driver does bro, apart from look out his cab window, adhere to signs/lights along with health and safety? From what I see here, it's no different to the buttons of not606 controlling you lot please log in to view this image
At a guess I'd say they drive trains. Cmon you aslef...unison...rcn...unite...gmb...rmt Workers of the world unite We've nothing to lose but our chains
Well they move it along a straight track with ocassional bends in it, I'd say driving a car is more complicated, and full of the same responsibility of not killing and maiming people, I wonder how much taxi drivers earn, bearing in mind they have the cost of the vehicle to pay for. Edit: I'd say driving a London bus is way more complicated. Yeah I know they are on strike too.
Yeah London cabbies do. Although that was put at risk by Uber, can't remember what the outcome of those court cases were. Never used an Uber myself but my kids do all the time, or at least use too.
London Cabbies were not happy with Uber drivers, because they were able to undercut them, some maybe by illegal practises, to which I accept your point - but one point it does not change is the ease of automation/technology, which enabled their customers to call a cab a lot easier and cashless. So yes, I'd agree their working conditions were poor, but they also invested in technology, which to the younger generation was the way forward.
Wouldnt say happy Wouldnt say i felt any way about it at all tbh Ubers are easy and cheaper than black cabs so peeps use em more. Often cheaper than the tube too and i dont do buses if i can help it cos theyre ****
Yes I know, you had at least three pages of using uber when I searched. My point being that you chose Uber over a London Cabbie, the former having the technology, albeit Cabbies have the knowledge the latter being better imho, but youngsters chose the cheaper, which has the ease of technology, that being an app on their phone, so you don't need to call a cab office.
