Not from where I was sat, although Steverico was sat next to me! The views expressed in my posts are not necessarily mine.
According to Christie he was brought here to play CB, not RB, and in his opinion CB is his best position.
I might be wrong but I don't think he's ever played CB anywhere in his career. He's a wing back really
Yeah I think that’s definitely wrong, he’s always been a right back and im really surprised we played him centre back on Saturday especially considering he’s probably our most creative player
Sinik seems to be the current player that gets better each week he doesn't play. He's started two games and was poor in both, he's looked better in his cameos from the bench, but I'm not sure what to make of him. He's obviously got some skill on the ball, but rarely seems to do anything with it. Reminds me a bit of Moncur.
I think it's more that it's proper strange that we're playing players put of position on the wing, who offer next to nothing in an attacking sense.
Obviously that is unusual, but surely the thing to take from that is that the seemingly more obvious candidate isn't actually as suitable as us laymen think he is. The idea that Rosenior put Christie at CB and Smith on the wing because he doesn't realise we have others who have played those positions before, is obviously ridiculous.
Moncur never looked good from the bench. Or when he started. Apparently one of the hardest trainers, couldn't see it when he crossed the white line.
Just in case anyone's missed it, Alfie Jones was down to start, but had to be withdrawn at the last minute due to illness.
Sinik is a full Turkish international and still only 23. It might not work out for him here, but lack of ability won't be the reason for it. His reaction when he celebrated with Tufan on Saturday looked like someone who gives a **** to me.
To be honest he is in squad because regulars were out of form like Yazici, Calhanoglu, Under, Kahveci, Akturkoglu, Akgun, Mor, Kilinc, Akbunar, Akbaba and even Turuc is ahead of him and coach is kind of experimenting. 23 is not really young btw, next generation Turkish players are quite younger and probably wingers are easily produced positions in Turkish youth system, I don't see him being an established national team player. Arda Guler, Eren Aydin, Akman brothers, Emirhan Kayar, Emirhan Ilkhan, Emre Demir is already challenging midfielder spots.
Thanks for the insight. What I am questioning is people already forming the opinion that he isn't good enough. I'd be surprised if a player that impressed enough in the Turkish super lig to earn himself 6 caps, doesn't have the quality to contribute to a struggling championship team. If he doesn't make it for us than other factors would more likely be behind that. In my opinion of course.
