Rangers were in the Champions League this season. They lost every game and finished bottom but it all brings cash in.
If they want Stewart, they can afford him I'd say

I thought they still owed loads to Ashley and others?

Either way I can see the attraction for Stewart of going there

All of this is true and yet at the same time £10m will be an absolute steal for someone.

Maybe mind. The finances have been a bit dodgy up there for a long time!

Fair enough mate. All about opinions, would love to see how many goals he'd be on now if he hadn't got injured mind. Probably be top scorer in the league and we'd be in a play off position right now, wouldn't say he was injury prone either, barely missed a game last season. Just think from our point of view we'll do very well to replace him.

Think it'll depend on where he goes too, ends up at ****ing Boro or another run of the mill championship club for example, fans will be ballistic.

Fans will want more mate, because of his POTENTIAL,we see his work rate and his improvement in every game, that’s the difference, the FANS know his value to a team

Yeh but the fans can't sign his contract for him. It doesn't matter what we want. It only matters what somebody else is willing to pay. Unless we want to lose him for free.

Fair point, but I’d be gutted at £10m

Plus, and I know this is being a bit of a dick - he's 27 in the summer. He's not exactly got loads of re-sale value for anybody buying him right now.

Its another reason I can't see a club spending £10m on somebody with a handful of games outside of League One. If he was 22/23 it becomes more likely. He aint

He's also got a history of medium-term injuries. He had at least one in Scotland when we were tracking him, then one when we signed him which delayed his start here. Then another one later that season.

Last season he was injury free but he's missed most of this season.

Yeah,, I think that part is key. Sell him to Everton or Rangers for £10m and I guess we understand
Sell him to Stoke for £5m and there will be plenty folk upset and angry

Agreed, but I think this fact may put off lower level Premier League clubs.

If you are wanting to sign a player entering his prime, you want one proven at or at least close to your level.

if you are wanting to sign a player for the future, you may be willing to take a punt on an unproven one, knowing that you could get good re-sale.

Ross is neither of those. He will be a relatively expensive punt on a player who should be entering his prime but has played 6 Championship games ever.

I do think if he'd stayed injury free the whole conversation would be entirely different. And it will be in the summer as well.

The only clubs who I think will be interested now (at this price) are either SPL (so Rangers) or "higher" / more established Championship clubs. Which as others have said, would be absolutely gutting.

Yeh but whether they're willing to pay £10m is another question.

Is say £5 million plus Simms such a bad deal? Considering the situation with his contract

Aye, i get the injury situation fingers crossed, it’s just the value he brings to the table when you see him in the flesh every game, not just his goals ( where his media valuation will come from) he brings the best out of the wide players, his work rate, his defensive duties, makes people like Pritchard more effective it’s just these extra attributes that we’ve witnessed for the past couple of years that probably go unnoticed to the mass media, thus the disappointment of a £10m valuation
