I appreciate that several Leeds fans are dubious about Simon Grayson's managerial ability, but Clivetime tried to turn every thread he posted on into a tedious Grayson discussion. There are designated threads for that. His recent slagging off of not606 moderators, calling Grayson the worst manager in football history and his despicable insults towards Leeds supporters confirmed how obvious it was that he's a wind-up merchant of the lowest order. Had to go.

Bit harsh to ban you're own fans. Even if he was a complete dick. I thought he was good comedy value.

No head in the sand thanks!! Perfectly aware of our bad points but prefer to focus more on the positives than dwell on the obvious failings! I've got Bradford m8s with more positive attitudes than my Leeds friends! Just appears to be b an attitude adopted wen we hit a bad run of form to crucify the team, manager and so forth! N to continuously read self professed fans constantly berating the team we supposedly worship is a sad state ov affairs!! Just my opinion (which im allowed) n if I'd known I'd be vilified for havin a say I wudnt hav bothered! Gud to kno for future tho! Thanx!!!

I don't think we'll get a positive attitude back until the club changes direction big time. We need better marketing and more pride around Leeds and Yorkshire. We need to make it clear that this is our city and this is our club, and to make he Leeds United package seem appealing to people again. We have an entertaining team with players like Clayton, White, Lees, Snodgrass, McCormack, Howson and Becchio who the fans have taken to heart even in these stifled times. We have a good keeper in Lonergan and workhorses in Pugh, Connolly and Keogh. We need to make tickets cheaper and get the young, enthusiastic fans back into Elland Road. The stadium does need work, but not right now, and certainly not in the form of a rather pointless East Stand village. Although I think the museum might be a decent move to bring back some pride, along with the Revie statue. The club needs to start selling merchandise publicly again through external retail outlets. We need to make it cool to support Leeds United once again and then the pride, the support and the good feeling will come flooding back.

I'm trying to stay away from the hackneyed Bates funding issue, but it can't be avoided really. He needs to put his hand into his pocket and buy some experience and quality so this team looks like a contender. Moreover, he needs to leave because as long as he stays, 40-60% of our normal matchgoing fanbase will keep on boycotting his presence.

I think it's definitely true that the team rely on the fans' support, but like I say, unless there are major moves from the club to turn things round, the dark cloud will keep hanging over Elland Road.

Cudnt agree with u more! the Bates issue aside I truly believe nearly all our players (bar Rachbuka atm) wen on form can produce a pretty gud performance! They just need tweaking and we need more depth in the squad! It just riles me when the general consensus 'we (the whole squad) are ****' is strewn around after a cuple of shaky performances! At the end ov the day u win sum, u lose sum and u learn to take the rough with the smooth!! I kno misery loves company but I wud just like to get thru a bit more ov the season b4 I give up hope!!! anihoo 3 points tmoz hopefully to lighten the outlook a little!!!

Football is not run by Sky, it is run by the people who put most money into it - most people watch it on TV so the television money trumps gate money.
    Accept it.
English football is doing very well - since the EPL started we've seen a virtual end to football violence in the top tier. It's big money and it keeps the thugs out.
More money means clubs can compete with the wealthy foreign teams (OK perhaps not Real Madrid but I'm convinced they're funded by the Spanish government). Yes we've had a flood of foreign players but by and large they're better than English ones - when English players practice and train as hard, they will be in demand because English clubs still feel safer with British players - the so called British-Premium is why average players like Carroll and Downing cost so much.

Murdoch doesn't own Sky anymore Btw.

Clubs with long traditions (of success) have always fallen on hard times...take a look at the top teams in say 1920 and then those of the late 1980's.

Leeds didn't chase any dream...Ridsdale was scandalously profligate with money that wasn't his doing stupid stuff he would never do as a businessman with his own money. It was shameful.

Football has never been about money - but success in football always has been. I agree that there should be a salary cap to halt the obscene money paid to players...and what's more, most clubs would love that too - but the bottom line is that rich clubs win more. Sky and the EPL have not altered that fact one bit.

America and the Far east will never compete for the top talent - and the new UEFA rules will act as a hand brake on clubs' spending...I don't see any premiership club going out of business...

Leeds will return to the top flight but I hope we "earn it" rather than buy it...either way, if we go up we will need to invest heavily because there is a big quality gap between the EPL and Football League.
IDK what Bates' motives are...but I'm pretty certain he didn't buy Leeds to make a quick buck...he has plenty of money. He bought Leeds as a cheap way to return to the glories he once had as chairman of Chelsea.

No-one buys into football or sport generally to make money.
