Will give us some indication how our season will end up, we have the perfect run to get some points on the bored Fulham (H) Wigan (H) Wolves (A) Blackburn (H) Should be aiming for 10points IMO. I also see Larsson is suspended for the next game due to picking up another yellow card, how do we line up? For me... ------------------------ Westwood ------------------------ -- O'Shea ------- Turner ---------- Brown ---- Richardson -- - Elmohamady -- Vaughan -------- Colback ---- Sessegnon - --------------- Bendtner ----------- Ji -------------------- subs Bardsley Laing Carson Meyler Cattermole Gardner McClean A striker is a must in Jan
I would personally go like this: ------------------------ Westwood ------------------------ -- Bardo ------- Turner ---------- Brown ---- Richardson -- - Elmohamady -- Meyler -------- Colback ---- Sessegnon - --------------- Bendtner ----------- Ji --------------------
I would personally go: Westwood Bardsley...Brown..Turner..Richo Elmo...Gardner..Catts...Sess ....Wickham..Bendtner.. If Wickham is out then Ji in. For me Meyler isn't ready, Colback has done f**k all and been anoymous...so Gardner deserves his chance.
Fulham not an easy game, good midfield and strong up top but should be beating these teams at home LO(VERY)L. Wigan a must, say no more. Wolves again not easy, an away game and as desperate as us for point. Won't just give them to us. (obviously) Blackburn, a team I have seen a few times and they look decent. Been really unlucky. Murdered Everton and got beat, played well against Arsenal and again yesterday. Having said that, 7 points an absolute minimum or we are in for a very long season.
The key to success, IMO, starts with a settled strong defence, the one that ended in the Villa game and played yesterday looked strong so stick with it and let it settle, Westwood Bardo..Turner..Brown..Richardson In midfield Larsson is a loss and Sess will be on the left, after that, who knows. Elmo will fill in for Larsson who will be straight back in after his ban. the two in the middle, IMO, a few have things going for them. I would like Vaughan in because he can use the ball, Meyler may still be a little early for 90 mins, Gardner seems the odd one out right now and I have a feeling it will be Catts. Up front is a no brainer, Bendy plus one depending on Wickhams injury. Win home games and a point min away.
Oooo, I hope you're wrong, mate. We must have more than 18 points going into December. The thing is we've never known a good Spring under Bruce. O.k. that doesn't necessarily mean he'll have another bad one, I know - but would you bet your house on it? Would you? I'd say 18 points in December would be the start of a long one.
Have to agree about Blackburn, I too think they have been unlucky after playing well. I still believe we should be capable of winning the next 3 homes.
If we dont get 9 points minimum from those games we are in trouble. On the flip side if we win our next 3 and Newcastle lose there next 3 we will only be 6 points behind them and should be in the top 10.
I think the time to worry about Newcastle is when we are in the top 10, until then I'm more concerned about us.
You guys need to focus on yourselves. As things stand we are way too far ahead to be of any concern for you and vice versa. On the flip side if things go wrong (and this is NUFC so anything is possible) then by all means start talking about us. I doubt we will lose all 3 games against the top 3 though. 3 points is the hope
And then after that: Norwich vs Newcastle --- Sunderland vs Blackburn Newcastle vs Swansea --- Spurs vs Sunderland Newcastle vs West Brom --- QPR vs Sunderland Bolton vs Newcastle --- Sunderland vs Everton The next run of games could give a false sense of how well the two rival teams are doing against each other. Once our very bad run is over, we've got some good games whilst you guys have some toughies. It's just a prime example of how everything will balance itself out over the season. We've all got to face everyone.
I hope so too, but injury jinx is rearing its head again and we don't have strength in depth ... O'Shea is a big loss. I think Turner is still struggling.
From those games i can see both of us getting 5/6/7 points. There is no doubt that both of us are currently in false positions and i fully expect both of us to finish anywhere between 7-10th this season. We are the only team in the bottom 12 to have a positive goal difference and although weve lost 5 games weve never been beaten by more than one goal which shows those games were close and we didnt get the breaks. Best of luck for the rest of the season itl be good to see us both in the top ten come the end of the season and should create some healthy rivalry as oppose to scrapping for points at the wrong end of the table.
