VAR did give it a check ... no clear and obvious error by the ref ... yes he went down very easily ...

 

French player jumps high, wins the header cleanly. Messi jumps in to the players ribs, knocking him over, no chance of winning the ball but goes down holding his head.

Result:- Free kick to Argentina. This is not OK.
