When gower 1st come to swans I thot gd signing! I was one of the few who rated him on the wing. But last cple of years since he's switchd inside my opinions changed. Apart from prob the odd 1 game in 20 he's played well wot does buck see in him. His legs r gone, he's got no bottle and he's just missd an open goal and hit on of the worst free kicks the prem lge has ever seen. Imo we play with 10 every wk when he's in thee side coz he offers fuk all to the team, we r so fortunate leon and joey got so gd engines. On the plus pt great result (apart from a miss my 3yr old woulld hav put away) and another plus was orlandi not in squad (thank ****) and augustien back in fold! Btw routledge was mom on par with nath, both awesome. Big rant but its off my shoulders now and "WE R PREM LGE!!" JACK ARMY

Maybe because he has created more chances per game (3.80) than any other player in EUROPE this season. That includes messi, xavi and iniesta. Maybe got something to do with it. Not comparing him to those players but give him a break. Yes he should have scored that goal but give him a break. Great team performance today

He's been awesome the last few games, and while he's not been setting the world alight, the fact that our system is functioning so well in part relies on him doing his job effectively.

Not a gower fan but the guy deserves 100% support for the way he comes into the side and gets about his job professionally, he is frustrating sometimes i agree but he has done more good than bad in the swans midfield! he deserves a bit of respect i think, especially after such a good point away.

The OP is very harsh and clearly the frustration has come from not beating Liverpool at Anfield! Did you hear what I said? We actually could have won at Anfield! That's how far this team has come - I didn't hear any complaints about Gower when he dinked the ball delightfully over the Wolves defence for Graham's goal against Wolves. But on the flip side, we must realise that as easily as we could have beaten Liverpool today, we could have lost as well.

Onto the OP point - Buck likes the guy, his passing ability is much better than Leon Britton so it gives us a perfect match in the CDM roles. I don't understand where his finishing has gone though, the guy was lethal for Southend before he joined us! Double figures every season... I see Gower as very similar to Leon, but take off a bit of Leon's tenacity off and put those points onto his passing game and you've got Mark Gower! He's a vital squad member, and though most would disagree with me, I feel that he gives our starting 11 much more balance than we had at the start of the season with Agustien. Yes, Agustien has more of a physical presence, but we just didn't quite click with him in the side. That's just my feeling though, both will play vital roles this season no doubt and I'm ok with that!

I'm not a fan of Gower, but even I recognise that he has improved immensely, but like I have said before, if we are on the back foot, it's because of one of Gower's passes going astray, but today he was back to his old self again, but I'm sure he'll bounce back, yes he cost us a goal, but so did Graham, so at the end of the day I'm sure most will agree that the team gave a great accounting of themselves today, and I for one was so proud of our boys!...................

he does average to good but there must be someone better available to take the corners and free kicks ???? he rarely clears the first man with his crosses !

Today wasn't his best game but he had to take the miss on his left foot - if it had come the other way on his right he may well have scored. Yes, some stray passes and a shocking free-kick, but he's a very balanced player with good vision. My opinion - the OP is well out of order.

He rarely clears the first man is a much trotted out phrase regarding Mark Gower and if you made an in-depth tally you'd probably find that is bollocks anyway. Think I'd better stop as I seem to be defending him too much!

He was injured, pulled his muscle I think so not risked for the whole game.

Question is, does routledge deserve to be dropped for the next game?? he certainly has put pressure on scotty sinclair with that performance today, how will sinclair react to it?

It may be a much trotted out phrase by others but when i see him take a corner i dont get to excited or expect much from it and have not for a long time so there must be a reason for it without making an indepth tally ! theres no smoke without fire . He is not a bad player in general otherwise .

    Huh?

As for Gower. Not convinced, sorry. We have other players who can do what he does best - picking out a pass. The rest of his game - corners, free kicks, finishing is shocking. A decent guy to have on the sidelines when Agustien can't play imo.
