No you each predicted Winner, Runner -Up and 3rd Place and get 30, 20 and 10pts respectively for getting them correct. He stands to get 30pts if France win but 0pts if they lose. In hindsight it should have been the same points for each position but it makes no difference to result anyway.
You see, now you are just tempting me into posting my predictions and then changing them hundreds of times before kick off, more just to keep Jak busy.
It doesn’t keep me busy - I just check your last post time against KO time and take that if legal. It does however keep you and salty busy checking the thread in the hours before KO.
I assume by "CHEATING ****" you must be referring to Salty, seeing as he is the one Jak suggested should do the copying.
Well I'm guessing it's either to do with Jak returning a favour, because I allow him to 'borrow' my missus at weekends. OR that the knock-out stages are 10 points for a perfect score predictions - and 2 x 10 = 20. But I'll let Jak confirm which it is in case I go for the wrong one.
is it? Seems a bit much to me. So you could get 10 perfect predictions in group stages and have that wiped out by someone getting half as many right in the knock outs? Feel that’s a real poor way to win but if that’s the only way you can win then you take it
The points doubled after Group stages. The idea was to try and keep everybody involved throughout the competition as much as possible, which I think it has done. We have ended up with the two players with the most perfect predictions and the predicted finalists as winners fighting it out for top spot so I think the scoring method has held up. Total points at stake in each stage Group Games 48 x 5 = 240pts Group Positions = 96pts Knockout 16 x 10 = 160pts Top 3 = 60pts However I realise we have had a few more Liverpool supporters in this competition now so we are going to change the rules for the next Prediction League. 1) All prospective players indicate their wish to enter 2) Each player sends me their latest bank statements 3) The six players with the most money in their accounts are entered in the competition and decide what the rules are 4) The rest can play in a different league organised by one of them 5) Future competitions will only be open to the selected six
