Guys As a sunderland supporter have you over the years had a claim to fame?? When i was 12 and we won the cup in 73 I was to young to go however the match was beamed back to big screens to the old rink (who can remember that??) and unbeknown to me the local tv were recording it for meanwhile back in sunderland. When the final whistle goes there is a clip of a little lad dancing infront of the camera for a good 3 to 5 seconds thats me and my claim to fame and it can be seen on you tube Anyone else got a story to tell ??
It was, and still is, well known that I have the biggest dick of all Sunderland fans, or did I miss hear what they said?
Nothing to do with Sunderland.....but...my Great Uncle is the great folk musician Tommy Gilfellon...and he was good friends with Billy Connely.... One weekend i was staying over at my uncles...must have been about 5, came downstairs and there was a big hairy man asleep on the couch.....and it was him!...spent the morning playing guess who and play fighting with the most famous comedien of that time!!! other than that i have no claim to fame
I was on Look North once, when my school closed down. Had to read a passage from a book in an English lesson for background footage, while the sound guy lay under my desk with a big microphone stuck up between me legs! I was on screen for fifteen seconds, so by rights I am still owed about 14 mins 45 secs of fame!
Well, it was about three feet long and covered in fluff, so it was either a microphone or his lass has bow-legs and is tickled pink whenever he gets the horn....
Years ago I worked for the local telly, sound engineer. I remember this job at a school and I had to lay on the ground and this kid read some poetry, got a right hard on that day/
I was officially the prettiest bairn in Sunderland in 1951 and advertised Codliver oil and Orange Juice for the Government of the day Ive asked me mam and she says if anybody takes the **** ye can all **** ***!
Never had a claim to fame but i recently did the legends tour with Jimmy Monty, before the tour we were told that there would be some TV camera's following us round and that we might get asked some questions. Half way round as refreshments were being served in Exec Box No7 the guy asked if he could interview me for TV so i jumped at the chance, they were recording something about Premier Passions??? not the Peter Ried one but this is something they are using to promote the club around the world, mainly in Africa due to our recent influx of African players and also South America. I have to admit that i froze a little bit when he stuck the mic in my face and the camera's rolled but i soon got into my stride and waffled complete and utter ****e for a few minutes. Probably be seen on You've been Framed soon.
God are you lot still harping on about 1973? Of course i saw my team win the only Cup worth mantioning that Year, the Texaco Cup! Nuffing much to report since........
That's not really a claim cos we only have yor word for it, maybe if you divulged a wee bit of coroboration?
During an otherwise un-enjoyable visit to Hull I sat in a restaurant opposite Lee Bowyer when he was there for his court case. I flicked peas at him for about and hour. Passive aggressive vigilante.
