I thought Morocco were unlucky. it is beginning to look like Argentina have their name on the cup. Just feels like it is their's to lose and I do not really see that happening.

Er ... I think the French might have something to say about that! As they are the current champions, surely it is for France to lose?

I reckon France are favourites by a fair distance (not bookies just imo).

Against both Morocco and us they took a beating, absorbed it and came out on top, which is the cliche sign of Champions.

Outside of the Croatia game I’ve not been that impressed with Argentina tbh, I mean they are obviously good but they are weaker than France defensively which could be crucial.

Argentina have grown better as the tornament progressed. Last night I felt they played really well and the team seemed to have gelled. Have to say I think France will get a very hard match. Think it will be 2-0.

Having watched that game it seems absolutely insane that the club thought getting rid of Boufal was a good move. He was handled so, so badly here by Pellegrino

Most talented player I think I’ve seen in a Saints shirt (too young to really know what MLT was doing when I saw him) such a shame it didn’t work out for him/us

Are we French or Argentinian for this?

I’m all for a draw and then the game abandoned.

I can see Argentina scoring in the first half and effectively keeping France at bay until they need to continually press as time runs out in the second half. There will then be a bit of brilliance from Messi and the game will be wrapped up at 2-0. France made hard work of Morocco last night and were second best for much of the game in my opinion, It just feels like it is Argentina's destiny thiis year.

France. Definitely France, but don’t tell my partner because I haven’t forgiven her for sending me a picture of a Cockerel standing on a joint of roast beef <grr>

Everyone who Morocco played made hard work of it. France differ from Morocco’s other opponents, in that they won comfortably in the end.

I’d quite like Messi to win a World Cup.

I'm not particularly a fan of the Argentina team, but I still want them to win it over France. France won the last WC and Argentina haven't won it in my lifetime.

I think on balance France just edge it as the best of a bad situation.

Might be my age, but when I think of Argentina all I think of is cheating bastard and hand of god. No matter how talented he was.

I am really torn. On one hand I like Messi and think it would be fitting for the greatest of all time to win the WC, but on the other, I despise the rest of the Argentina team. Then with France, I can't help watch them and think that should be us!!

So Argentina probably just edge if for me. Most annoying thing of all of this is that I think for the first time, certainly in my lifetime, England were genuinely the best side in the tournament.

The greatest of all time did win a World Cup, with Argentina in 1986 <ok>

He won a WC too, in 1970.

Johan Cruyff never did though. Them’s the breaks

George Best never even played in a World Cup, but was probably the greatest player I ever saw play live.
