Washington holding a news conference on it now on SKY News. I don't understand any of it so can't say what they are claiming. They are using a word that @Spurlock loves though... 'could' <laugh>

I was a little surprised, not just because in essence it breaks one of the basic laws of physics, but also that it wouldn't be making headline news everywhere if that was the case.

oh, theoretically it should be possible to make a gain if we can sustain a constant fusion reaction without the need of extra energy beyond that needed to start the reaction, and we seem to be getting closer, but it's years away. There's a few different styles of reactors being built at the moment which hold some promise, but I'm not holding my breath.

The missing plan for alien first contact...

    https://www.bbc.com/future/article/20221101-should-extraterrestrial-life-be-granted-sentient-rights

According to many of our cultural touchstones, there’s only one thing for it if extraterrestrials ever take a cosmic detour to our planet: heavy artillery fire.

Nations General Assembly session in 1977 by the prime minister of Grenada, Eric M Gairy, who believed UFO sightings may have been signs of hostile extraterrestrial life on our planet, and suggested establishing an official investigation body through the UN. But no policy was adopted, and he was pressed to drop the topic by British diplomats, before being deposed in a coup the following year.

    https://www.bbc.co.uk/caribbean/news/story/2011/03/110314_ufo.shtml

UFOs have only ever received one debate in the UK Parliament. It came in the House of Lords in 1979, at the height of the "winter of discontent", and the files show how officials laboured to prepare a government position on the topic.

I was wondering if we could put something on a comet to piggy-back a ride, but from what i've read it would be totally pointless.

We certainly need to be finding a faster way to travel, if we are to achieve anything truly remarkable, even if it is a non human trip.

Super hit soundtrack as well. Sucky's asteroid needs some decent backing music.
