Wonder if Derby are taking thousands of fans to all points League 1, probably not. Will they have 24,000 fans in Pride Park, guess not I heard plenty of Leeds fans say it was great in L1 because they enjoyed seeing parts of thenEFL pyramid that they had never seen before, they also said opposing fans loved having Leeds fans in their ground, their town, their pubs and were thankful and the local economy boomed when we were there
Yeh we were the equivalent of Liverpool, City, Chelsea etc all rolled into one down there competing with the also rans of the EFL. If that's what rocks your boat as a Leeds fan then fair enough, but not for me and definitely not after Bates cheated his way to getting our golden share back robbing millions in the process. That was millions of local businesses and taxpayers money by the way.
I think you're missing the point. I never said I wanted us to get relegated again. I just said like a lot of South Standers that it had been a great time for supporters. A lot of fans don't give a **** about the politics or even what division they are in. It's about supporting the team. When we pulled back those deducted points we got from the bent authorities, it was sweet as ****.
I also think it was the relief that we still had a team to support. That summer could easily have seen Leeds United fail to exist. Starting on -15 galvanised the fans but also a sense of relief we could still get down to ER and support the team. We very nearly lost that privilege.
We’d have been alright in the end. When you see the sevco chancers north of the border and what they pulled and they’re back in second place again
Fondly Remeber that time and especially the following season when we and Southampton were on track for back to back promotions. Saints did it but we failed due to the sackofshytBates not allowing Larry to buy anyone in January. Southampton have been in the Prem ever since and it took us more years to catch them up.
I have no idea i just remember the crowd singing so many minutes to go before we get to zero. Perhaps you were there in liquid form only.
But we didn’t go up though did we. Nor the next season which presumably just added to all the joy that League One was bringing ? Maybe try singing ‘ Oh Happy Days’ if it ever happens again
