Yeah, tend to agree. Always expected this season to be "win one-lose one" as we find our feet. No shame in losing to the likes of WBA, Norwich and Burnley. The Cardiff defeat stings, but then we went and won at Birmingham.
I think we will be comfortably mid-table - even in our injury crisis, we maintained a mid-table position. Something would have to go badly, badly wrong for us even to contemplate being in the bottom 6
I agree mate , but don't remind me of those words '' go badly badly wrong'' when we're talking about us !!
So it's toxic to want success, or toxic to point out everyone who saw the game knew we needed to do something on our left side at or soon after half time The good thing we have going for us is youth and ability to improve everywhere except the head coach.
It is toxic wanting managers sacked all the time, never see you comment when we win to praise the manager. Im not saying he gets everything right and he clearly made mistakes with his subs last night but shouldnt be sacked for that Again ill ask who do you want as manager then
If you think finishing 8th this season is failure then I think you are deluded We finished 5th in L1 last season - our highest finish in the 4 seasons down there. We have a squad that is made up largely of players who finished 5th in L1. This season was always about consolidation
Haha i think so. I dont mind folk being pee'd off with TM for last night but cant keep sacking managers
We seem to chew up and spit out managers at the drop of a hat. So many of them come to us having had 3 or 4 years elsewhere and are gone within 12 months. TM is doing a fine job and I hope he's still here in 5 years whether we are in the PL or not
I think TM will be given time with us as hes the right man in my opinion. I would say these are the things i look for in a manager: - gets the area - he does - develop youngsters - he does - play attacking football - he does - understands the club - he does - can attract players - he has done at all clubs - can change tactics during the game - this is where he needs to improve Unrealistic to get a manager that covers all those areas, so impressive that he covers most
I think I'd add to that that he is very calm - no huge over reactions when we win or lose. Seems very steady
If TM could be like AN when it comes to in-game tactics then I think we'd have the whole package. Last night's team selection and substitutions were just bizarre
Lately we have been poor 1st half and better 2nd half. Last night we reversed that order. It was an off night, certainly TMs starting 11 probably not right and after the break we fell away. How on earth we did not organise to stop Wallace is beyond me. At least with the penalty, it can be argued we have scored a goal from open play. I didn't like the mickey taking about not scoring from a corner. The club seems to be talking down the January transfer opportunity... hmm I reckon we are still short of at least 3 players, a striker (2 if LND leaves) a box to box player, probably a RB
I think the likes of Alex Neil or Martin O'Neil/Gus Poyet would do that, but I dont think TM would Let's be honest, we don't really need any players in the window - a 3rd striker and backup to Evans would be nice, but not essential. I don't think there are any games needed by TM
