No freakin way i gave him the benefit but he blew it against France. He shouldhave played rice and Phillips and not three up front. I would have benched Foden till later and not surrendered the midfield. One of the front three lost the ball and the french ran straight through us. They had lots of pace and needed to be contained. We put three at times on mbappe and left the middle wide open. Harry kane is slow and not world class so needs better tactics just to suit him. Southgate thought we would win with his formation but France dealt with us no problem. We created no goals from open play.
Second half we were decent and if we could have taken it to ET then who knows. It's entirely possible that France would have got as leggy as 2 lines of chorus girls doing the can-can.
