C'mon Morocco

 

Morocco v Argentina would be a great Final I think.

 

I’d prefer Croatia V Morocco- don’t want the French or Argies in the final

 

I don't like the Argies either from a political standpoint.
But my wish was based only on the potential quality of football. I think Morocco v Argentina will deliver the best combination of easy-on-the-eye football available (based on the four teams still left in the competition).

France v Argentina would be OK I guess.
But despite credit to Croatia for their progress, I don't find them good to watch.

 

Got a real soft spot for Argentina. I was there for the 1978 w/c, and the people were wonderful. Made up for the dire football Scotland played.

 

At least your lot got there.
The 1970's were my formative years when recalling England football at International level. I never recovered

We did have a great song though Ally's Army. My favourite along with Vindaloo.

 

Seem to remember Del Amitri did a World Cup song a bit more recently, "Don't come home too soon"

 

We changed the lyrics to Ally's Army:
We're comin home with Ally's Army,
We've been to the Argentine;
And we didnae shake them up,
And we didnae win the Cup,
Argentina were the greatest football team.

 

Apart from Messi, this Argentine team are bad sportsmen. Goading the losing Dutch team, and then the manager defending them, it's just not cricket old boy.

Wonder what the odds would have been to predict that at the start ?

 

You'd probably get decent odds right now.

 

If we get Argentina v France I won't be watching it.
