Any tight game is going to be settled on a couple of moments.
Their second goal was a bad one to keep in. A thirty six year old centre forward shouldn't be beating a centre half to the ball at the near post IMO. And the penalty was missed, but you'd always ask Kane to take it.

I think Southgate has done a good job overall. A final, a semi and very tight quarter loss is above par and he has brought a lot of young players on.

I think he'll leave, but it won't be easy to get a better man in. They might give it to his assistant. But personally I don't think we should look at a foreign coach.

I don’t think the money makes a difference to be honest. Even messi misses the odd penna. if they were that easy then every single one would be scored, ever, making them irrelevant.

Correct. Messi has actually missed loads of pens, especially under pressure

Kane is the penalty taker. No one else should have taken the second. I'm not as gutted when England go out as I used to be. We've had countless attempts, "Goldden Generation", 90, this new team and we always fail. Not taking anything away from the players because it was literally a coin toss as to whom wins. France are Champions and winners, so they will always have the upper hand because being a winner at international level is just in them. All eyes on Bap last night and we forgot about one of the most underrated 36 yearolds in Premier leauge history. It is what it is. Personally I don't think we'll win anything, This cracking England team will be another head scratcher where we all say "How have we not won anything with these",be it the next euros, World Cup or the world cup in 30 years time. Still it's nice to be at the party.

We were the better team overall. The French played with 12 men the whole match, that ref should never be allowed on a pitch ever again.
Our time will come, sooner rather than later, we have a really good young team who will win a tournament and we have to keep Southgate. Theres no-one better.

I would agree about Kane and penalties, Although thought he looked like he was going to miss in the.close up (said that in the pub at the time. He didn’t pok like he fancied it)

Southgate has been excellent for England. Beaten by France last night is no big disappointment as they played well. France took their second half chance. Thought we were better over 90. Hey ho. People forget how bad England were in the generation which had the mighty Shearer. Awful. Rarely got out of groups. Call him “negative” as some do, but he’s had some of the most exciting England moments in my lifetime. I’ll back him

Is he? You said your comment as if it’s a foregone conclusion. He got knocked out in the quarters, so he’s got semi, final and quarters. How would you define success? Gone from round of 16, to that, or not getting out of group stages.
Best England manager in my lifetime achievwise. I’m 47. Not sure anyone can argue that fact. Or would you prefer we went hung ho in every game and lost 4-31 each time? A la Keegan?

I find his tactics spot on most of the times mate. If we were going to win anything I feel it would've been with him.

I am also 47 and Bobby Robson is the best England manager in my lifetime, this squad should be let loose, taking saka off was sacrilege, we lost the euro final because he camped us behind the ball and let them come on, last night it was tippy tappy at the back until we had to go for it and when we did we were much the better side

Yet Robson never got to a final. Rarely got to a semi. It’s a results business and Southgate’s results are better. As I say, watching a team play great football and lose is pointless. Agree it was a poor decision taking Saka off as he had the lad in his pocket. But he did what he thought would get him the game. It may have worked if not for poor finishing and good keeping. I’ll back him. As I say, best in my lifetime. Not sure if Robson was better, I was a kid and it’s hard to be objective with childlike excitement. I used to get excited at every Sunderland game back then, and we were dross most of the time

Robson won the league in 78 with Ipswich, the eufa cup in 81 with Ipswich, would have won the World Cup in 86 if it wasn’t for the fat little coke snorting argy. This current team should be sweeping all aside imho it is the best squad in world football and should be being utilised in that manner

We can all see it. When we go at teams they can't live with us. The problem is we do it in short spells then step back, whether we've scored or not. Croatia, Italy and France stepped forward and landed a blow because that's what top teams do.

Southgate is still obsessed with this idea that you can stroke it about like a continental team like the 80s and 90s while the teams coming up now are attacking with pace.

That is exactly what our lass was screaming at the telly last night when we were ****ing around at the back, there was a period of about 3 mins and then Pickford got the ball and hoofed it up top

Just had talksport on. Some Journalists on waxing lyrical about Harry Kane, saying he was a broken man last night when he was talking to him. I'm pretty sure everyone knows that. Don't need people that make **** up in newspapers to tell me that. At the end of the day, he blasted his chance over the crossbar, totally missed the target. He doesn't need anyone making excuses for him. Seems attitudes are different for him missing then when Rashford and Saka missed. The autopsy of the game is getting boring already. I'm sure we'll all have the usual "we can win it" fever for Euro 24 and no doubt get kicked in the balls again.

For me, I can take the keeper saving any penalty, but when a professional blasts it over the bar like that, always leaves a sour taste
