No one's slagging Kane, I certainly wasn't but My point being is that no matter what level of football you play at, you should score a penalty as the odds are in your favour. As for facing his teammate, it didn't seem to stop him scoring the first penalty
Na it didn't but it would have added to the pressure both times. I agree kick taker should score and do most times but the pressure then must have been immense.
If we had tried to stop the cross coming in for their winner we would have went on to win that. That goal reminds me of the ease we let Charlton put the ball into the box in the playoff final. So annoyed at the total ****e things like that.
Only 1 England player went out to try and close the ball down and he was subbed off. The rest just stood watching
Yes the pressure would've been intense but that's what these players keep telling us they're in the game for.
I've just realised why I'm always gutted after being knocked out of world cup or Euros...there's always ages to wait for the next game. West Brom on Monday night man. Bring it on. We played some decent stuff tonight. At least we went out like that rather than not turning up at all.
I think Southgate will jack it in anyway. Had a good run with a very good young team and had some serious opportunities to win. We haven't. Keep missing out.
Needs a good tactician. Southgate has been good at keeping a tight knit and loyal squad, but he lacks the tactical nous when it comes to the highest level
Gutting but it happens. I thought Kane played well overall. A bit too negative first half for me. Saka scared to run at the full back early doors and Foden unable to affect the game.
Totally different 2nd half - Foden and Saka were completely different players. Was surprised to see Saka taken off because he had Fernandez on toast Hey ho, another tournament, another disappointment
Proper annoyed me, they all sat waiting for the cross to come back in. I mean it was a cracking cross but should have pushed out and you don’t allow someone like Giroud to get in front of you that easily
Yes it was a cracking ball in, but not a single bit of pressure from us to stop it coming in. We lost that game because of our sloppiness.
But who is going to take over? I would personally stick with Southgate for the Euros. I've said this for a long time, we need to qualify from a group that has an equal or better ability side in it than ours. We know we will qualify when we see the same sort of teams in group. 5-0 here and 5-0 there does us no favours in tournaments, even though it looks good at the time.
Ultimately, England aren't good enough. The only tournaments where they've won, or come close have all been on home soil
