Silver lining. Bellingham didn't win the world cup so that's €20mill off his transfer price.

    I've been out all evening.
Has there been copious wailing and gnashing of teeth?

Finny watching the game last night with only a modicum of interest.

I'd have liked England to win, but not disappointed that they lost. Havnt really got invested in the world cup at all.

Id agree the referee was shocking last night, really didn't want to give any big descions. Which led to France basically doing what they wanted with no action taken.

However I did think France where there for the taking, defensively all over the place, rash doesn't adequately cover there descions, England didn't take advantage though, still incredibly cautious, much more worried about what Frances forward line could do than getting the best out of our own.

Johnny Wilkinson getting the blame from some of the knuckle dragging swamp morons because of a resurfaced kicking video.

I actually got more into this world cup than I have for the last few. Probably more to do with kickoff times than anything though.

Still didn't get behind England; same every time, out as soon as they face a decent side.

I think the main issue is not having any urge to get behind any of the players. None of them excite me.

I know what you nean, England are a fairly dour watch unless youre rabid or pissed.

Shame really, I think there's a lot of exciting talent in the squad, but the same old faces, playing the same old style tends to Rob internationals of any enjoyment.

Personally thought England were better to watch this time than the other Southgate tournaments but still too stilted in the main with flashes of really good attacking play .

Slightly better mainly thanks to switching from 532/541 to 433 but could have been much better to still.

I'm convinced our best formation would be 4222

I think England have got the players to be quite fluid in there formation. A bit if freedom and less worry would do them the power of good.

It tends to fall down though if you insist on playing an immobile lump at number 9 and have at least one of your full back terrified of moving past the half way line.

But its always the same with England, a bit mystifying why the team doesn't play to its strengths and insists on sticking with certain players until its to late.
