We were the better team. So frustrating. Even with the ref being bent as ****. We just can’t quite do it in these tournaments, even when we deserve too. This will definitely be a what might have been tournament. Couldn’t ask for too much more from the team tonight really though. Just frustrated and gutted.

TBH I wasn't expecting England to get that far due to the dire form they had been in. But it is cruel to lose in that way. And I think we could have gone all the way had we won tonight.

Speak for yourself, I'm quite excited by what Nathan Jones has done in the few weeks he's had with the players.

Each to their own. Back to being the worst team in the league doesn’t fill me with much excitement personally. Miles better than watching England/World Cup though tbf

    Best team lost. Gutting.

If only JWP hadn't completely lost his form at the wrong time.

What difference would he have made? Doubt he would’ve been taking the pens ahead of Kane and the free kick at the end was very hard due to how close it was

I know we shouldn’t, but let’s assume France beat Morocco

we either get same final again v Croatia or a repeat of France v Argentina (best game last tournament)

Very hard indeed. Which is why you need your absolute best option, just to improve the odds a bit. He has form vs Lloris.

Even without him available, we could have turned to Trippier (or Maddison).

Very England way to go out.

    Generally play well.

    Miss penalty.

    Go home.

    Opposition more clinical.

Positives - Best players were mostly the ones with years in the tank.

Negative - Despite the penalty miss, I have no idea how Kane is replaced long term, if we are to win a tournament this generation we need to do it while he is here and tbh he probably only has the next Euros left before hitting the decline phase.

Southgate has done fairly well this tournament, but Saka and Foden off was a horrendous decision. Saka particularly had the French defence on toast all game and didn’t seem tired.

If Kane had scored the 2nd penalty he would have become England’s highest scorer I believe.
Am I right in remembering that Lineker did similar when he had the chance to pass Charlton?

No, he did. It was in a friendly before Euro 92. Although it was to equal Charlton.

    Dreadful.

Heartbreaking. We were class tonight. Best team lost, but you have to respect France’s ability to score and win games.

I think thats a bit out of order. He didn't mean to miss at least he belted it and didn't look like a complete bell end like some of the penalty takers.

The bottom line is if you get penalties you need to score them. France didn't need penalties as they scored two good goals. We had chances but made them easy for Lloris to save

Also, I am going off football with all its greed and cheating bastards and weak refs who can't stand up to them. I mean Messi, Neymar, Richarlison, Ronaldo for starters

Also at least we don't have a players who disrepects his fans like Ronaldo
